document.write('<!-- Articles --><div class=\"articles\"><div align=\"center\"><strong><font face=\"Arial\" size=\"4\">Sun Devil Swim School Classes</font></strong></div>\r\n<div><br />\r\n<strong><font face=\"Arial\">SDSS offers classes for children as young as 6 months!&nbsp; See below for greater descriptions of each level.</font></strong></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>Water Babies Program</strong><br />\r\nThis class is fun for both you and your child with songs and games.&nbsp; An introduction to the aquatic environment, one-on-one time with your child, and a chance to meet other parents!&nbsp; Activities include singing, kicking exercises, jumping, submersions, back floats, toy time, and other activities.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>Transition</strong><br />\r\nChildren moving from a Water Baby class to a Ribbon Level class will go through a transition period to get them used to being in the water without a parent and focusing on the teacher.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>Children\'s Program</strong><br />\r\nWe implement a graded program that assigns each child a \'ribbon\' level that defines their skill level.&nbsp; Colored ribbons are awarded when the student moves to the next level, and are indicative of a series of goals or skills the child will be working on during the majority of their class.&nbsp; Students work with an instructor to progress through the levels at their own pace while learning water safety, swimming technique, and having fun!</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><strong><font face=\"Arial\">Ribbon levels for our Children\'s Program&nbsp; </font></strong></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A PINK Ribbon (with fins)</strong><br />\r\nAwarded to either a beginning swimmer who gets in the water without mom or dad in a regular class with a teacher and three other children safely, or to a graduate of the Water Baby and Transition program.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A RAINBOW Ribbon (with fins)</strong><br />\r\nAwarded to a Pink swimmer who participates in a regular class safely and does not cry for three weeks in a row.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A GREEN Ribbon (with fins)</strong><br />\r\nAwarded when a child is able to hold their breath, submerge (face down), and swim a short distance comfortably and happily using dog paddle and kicks.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A BLUE Ribbon (with fins)</strong><br />\r\nAwarded to a child who is able to swim dog paddle with fins, taking five \'up-face\' breaths without panicking. The child must also be able to jump from the side of the pool without fins, turn around, swim back to the side of the wall and climb out on their own. </font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A RED Ribbon (without fins)</strong><br />\r\nUpon moving from Green to Blue, I will use two fins and be designated as a Blue-2.&nbsp; As my strength and skill improves I will use one fin (Blue-1), and then no fins (Blue-0) when swimming.</font></div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\">To earn my RED Ribbon I must master the following three skills without fins:<br />\r\nStarfish float on my back for 10 seconds without assistance from the instructor.<br />\r\nSwim one length of the pool alternating between my tummy and my back (PB &amp;J).<br />\r\nSwim/kick one length of the pool on my back (PB/wave to the fish.)</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>WHITE Ribbon (without fins)</strong><br />\r\nTo earn my <strong>White Ribbon</strong>, I must master the following four skills:<br />\r\nDive from the side of the pool in good form.<br />\r\nSurface dive to the bottom of the pool, and retrieve objects without assistance from the instructor.<br />\r\nSwim one width of the pool under water without assistance from the instructor.<br />\r\nTread water for 1 minute (kick and scull).</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A PURPLE Ribbon (without fins)</strong><br />\r\nTo earn my <strong>Purple Ribbon</strong> I must master the following three skills: <br />\r\nSwim one length of the pool freestyle with side breathing in good form.<br />\r\nSwim one length of the pool backstroke in good form (no catch up arms).<br />\r\nKick legal Dolphin for one length of the pool with a kick board.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>An ORANGE Ribbon (without fins)</strong><br />\r\nTo earn my <strong>Orange Ribbon</strong> I must master the following four skills:<br />\r\nSwim 2 continuous lengths of the pool freestyle in good form (side breathing, no catch-up arms).<br />\r\nSwim 2 continuous lengths of the pool elementary backstroke.<br />\r\nSwim 1 length of the pool underwater.<br />\r\nSwim 1 length of the pool sidestroke.</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\"><strong>A Sun Devil Sparky AWARD</strong><br />\r\nTo earn my <strong><font color=\"#990066\">Sparky Award</font></strong>, I must be able to swim one LEGAL length of each of the four competitive strokes. Legal is as defined by USA Swimming. </font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><font face=\"Arial\">The four strokes are:<br />\r\nFreestyle<br />\r\nBackstroke<br />\r\nBreaststroke<br />\r\nButterfly</font></div>\r\n<div>&nbsp;</div>\r\n<div><strong><font face=\"Arial\">When I earn this award, I graduate from SUN DEVIL Swim School!</font><br />\r\n</strong></div></div>');
