As a community of runners the LARC adds to our running and marathoning experience.  For me the running is about more than the running.  The LARC runs are great times to gather with friends.  Also the LARC has opportunities to give something back to the community in which we run, as well as to the community of runners at large.<br>  <i><b>Favorite LARC Event:</i></b> My favorite LARC event is the San Diego RNR Marathon.  And, I enjoy the Saturday morning runs leading up to it and other races.  Running in Santa Monica and the surrounding environs is an enjoyable experience.  A favorite event from previous years has been the Jimmy Stewart Relay Marathon.<br>  <i><b>My Goals for the Club:</i></b> My primary goal for the LARC is to bring more people in to the experience of running and into the running community.  I want people to be able to participate in running year round, not just during marathon training seasons.  Another goal is for LARC runners to improve their training & technique so they can accomplish greater and higher things.  In addition, I want to see the LARC make positive contributions to the surrounding community.<br>  <i><b>Favorite Running Quote:</i></b> I have several favorite running quotes.  One of my favorites is not really about running at all.  But it can be applied to running and to other aspects of life.  It\'s from the lyrics to a U2 song: <i>\"I WILL BEGIN AGAIN --.\"</i>  Whenever I head back to the track or Totem Pole after completing a marathon, other major running experience, or at times after recovering from an injury, I think of that quote.
