Minuteman is a workout group that operates under the umbrella of New England Masters Swim Club (NEMSC). The national governing body for NEMSC is United States Masters Swimming.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">&nbsp;</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Our Goal:</strong> To offer professionally coached workouts for adult swimmers of all abilities in a positive and structured team environment.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Our Mission:</strong> Developing individual potential, as a team, through swimming.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Who is eligible to train with Minuteman?</strong></span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Minuteman is open to adults 18 and up. We currently have swimmers ranging in age from 19 to 75 and in ability from fitness swimmer to 2008 US Olympic Team member. In order to benefit from our program, swimmers should be able to swim a minimum of 100 meters without stopping. Swimmers unable to swim 100 yards/meters may want to consider adult swimming lessons prior to joining our club.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Swimmers Join Minuteman for:</strong></span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Fitness: Fitness through swimming means a healthy lifestyle.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Competition: Challenge yourself physically and mentally.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Triathlons: Increase your efficiency &amp; endurance - stay with the pack!!</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Fellowship: Meet and fraternize with others that share common interests.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Fun: It is much more fun to train with a group than it is on your own.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Our Training Cycles:</strong>&nbsp;</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Minuteman offers goal oriented workouts in each of our 3 sessions. These workouts are designed to meet the needs of competitive swimmers, triathletes, &amp; fitness swimmers.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Each session has a specific theme for Minuteman as a team. Within each session, Minuteman offers swimmers the opportunity to swim in lanes that focus on either team competition or triathlon/freestyle training.</span></span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Minuteman operates on a competitive swim cycle. Sessions 1 &amp; 3 begin with an emphasis on technique and endurance. As sessions 1 &amp; 3 progress, distance swum and intensity increases. We train on this cycle in order to peak, as a team, for local swim meets in early December and March.
