Homeschool Swimming Program

QDD Swim Team is now offering  a Homeschool Swimming Program!

\r\n

QDD Swim Team\'s Homeschool Program is designed to best accommodate the schedules of homeschooled swimmers.  In the program, student-athletes will work on stroke technique, efficient starts and turns, as well as development of endurance and overall health. It provides student-athletes the opportunity for aerobic-based training which will help to build their endurance level and hold onto their energy for a longer period of time.
\r\nThis program offers athletes two practice times per day to choose from and a payment method to allow athletes to determine their own practice schedule. This is strictly a training program. These athletes will not compete in QDD swim meets.

\r\n

This Program will begin October 3rd, 2011 and run through May 31st, 2011.  Practices are offered Monday - Thursday at the Jeff Rouse Aquatic Center in Manassas.  Below are the available practice times and the cost of the program.

Available Practice Times-  

\r\n

12 & older:                        7:30-9:00 AM or 11:00AM-12:30 PM
\r\n11 & younger:                   8:00-9:00 AM or 11:30 AM-12:30PM

\r\n

\r\n*These practice times are recommended for these age groups, but the athletes are welcome to any practice they wish to attend.

\r\n

Cost-

\r\n

For the Homeschool Program, there is no set program fee.  The athletes may come as frequently or infrequently as they wish with the purchase of a Homeschool Program Punch Card. These punch cards are good for 10 practices and must be presented to the coach before each practice.

Cost:      $50 per punch card

\r\n

Masters Swim Program

\r\n

QDD Swim Team is now offereing a Masters Swim Program!

\r\n

The Masters Swim Program is designed to give adults the opportunity to train for various competitions, stay in shape, or simply enjoy the sport of swimming.  In this program, the nationally recognized QDD coaching staff will create practices and sets for the athletes that will meet their training needs.  QDD Masters Swim Program, and the sport of swimming in general, can improve cardiovascular health as well as tone the entire body and be a low impact exercise option.

\r\n

This program will be be run as a pay as you practice program, in the form of punch cards.  Athletes can attend practice as frequently or infrequently as they wish with the purchase of the Masters Swim Program punch cards.

\r\n

Available Practice times:

\r\n

Monday and Friday AM:   4:30-6 AM or 6-7:30 AM

\r\n

Wednesday AM:                  6-7:30 AM

\r\n

Monday - Thursday PM:   7:30-9 PM

\r\n

*These practice times may change slightly once high school swim season begins in mid November

For the Masters Swim Program, punch cards will be purchased instead of a flat program fee being paid. Additional Punch Cards will be available for purchase online to supplement the punch cards that are bought initially during registration.

High School Prep Programs

\r\n

High School Prep Practice- 

\r\n

This program is designed to give student-athletes a head start and maintain the lead on the competition. In this program, student-athletes will work on stroke technique, efficient starts and turns, as well as development of specific racing strategies for upcoming meets. It provides student-athletes the opportunity for aerobic-based training which will help to build their endurance level and hold onto their energy for a longer period of time during their race.

High School Clinics-

\r\n

\r\n

This program focuses on addressing the student-athletes need on an individual basis. We are inviting high school swimmers from all over the northern Virginia area to join the experienced QDD coaching staff for a Tuesday night session of stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and any questions about the sport of swimming that you may have!

High School Holiday Training-

This program is designed to offer student-athletes the chance to practice during the winter holiday.  Holiday training is a great way to stay in shape and keep a swimmer\'s endurance level up when on a long break.  It will help you to feel better in the water when you start up practices again after the holiday.

Summer League Prep Programs

\r\n

**This is the Spring 2011 information.  Please use it for reference as it will not change much for Spring 2012.  The information will be updated soon.

This program is designed to offer student-athletes the chance to practice before the Summer Leagues start training.  This is a great way to stay in shape and keep a swimmer’s endurance level up and start working on their stroke technique, starts and turns.  Swimmers will have the attention of our professional USA coaching staff, running this programs with a variety of locations and sites!  Ages for this program is 5-12 years old.  We recommend swimmer to have good fitting goggles, cap and encourage having fins!
