QDD Swim Team is sponsoring opportunities for American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Certification Classes. The courses are available to participants, age 15 and older, who have successfully screened through a pre-test at the beginning of the course.  

\r\n

Through classroom learning and hands-on practice, students will learn:

\r\n

\r\n
• Surveillance skills to help recognize and prevent injuries
\r\n
• Rescue skills - in the water and on land
\r\n
• First aid training and lifeguard CPR/AED - to help prepare for any emergency
\r\n
• Professional lifeguard responsibilities like interacting with the public and addressing uncooperative patrons
\r\n

\r\n

\r\n

Upon successful completion of the course, including a final written and skill demonstration test, students will receive a nationally recognized ARC Lifeguard Certification/ First-aid Certification Card (valid for three years), an ARC CPR/AED Certification Card (valid for two years).  These certifications will enable them to work at most public and private aquatics facilities in the United States as certified lifeguards.

\r\nClass Details:

\r\n

Lifguard Class (Around 32 Hours): The cost of the class is $195.00.  This price includes all instruction and classroom materials. 

\r\n

Lifeguard Review (Around 22 Hours): The cost of the class is $160. This class can be taken if the student has previously taken an ARC Lifegaurding class, and the expiration of the card is less then one year. The price includes all instruction and classroom materials.

\r\n

Lifeguard Challenge (5-6 hours): The cost of the class is $150. This class can be taken if the student has previously taken an ARC Lifegaurding class, and the expiration of the card is less then one year. Students are responsible for all materials and will be TESTED ONLY in this class.

\r\n

CPR/AED Challenge renewal (3-4 hours): The cost of the class is $80. This class can be taken if the student has previously taken an ARC CPR/AED class, and the expiration of the card is less then one year. Students are responsible for all materials and will be TESTED ONLY in this class.
