It\'s learning to enjoy swimming as a fitness activity. Our goal is not just to get you across the pool - it\'s to start you on a lifelong path to overall fitness through one of the best, low impact, aerobic activities available.
\r\n
As a non-swimmer or novice, our step-by-step process will teach you how to swim each stroke, how to swim safely, how to make continuous improvement, and much more. SCAQ\'s coaches will personally assess your individual needs and goals and create a personalized package for you to teach you how to swim safely and more efficiently. You will have available a combination of semi-private lessons with one of our other experienced instructors, and regular group workout sessions or technique clinics, where you will practice the skills learned in your private sessions. The more you practice the quicker you learn.
\r\n
Every person learns a new skill at a somewhat different rate, but on average, it will usually take between 3-6 sessions for a non-swimmer to become comfortable and relaxed in the water so as to be able to swim the entire length of a 25 yard pool. The more you are in a pool practicing some basic skills, the quicker you get over any discomfort in the water and learn to relax - a key to swimming!
\r\n
SCAQ has a program for every level of swimmer:
\r\n
LEVEL 1 SWIMMER: Beginner. Currently not offering private/semi-private lessons
\r\n
LEVEL 2 SWIMMER: Novice level. Can swim one length of a 25 yard pool but has trouble making more than 100 yards continuous.
\r\n
LEVEL 3 SWIMMER: Intermediate level. Able to complete most of a one hour workout covering a total distance of one mile or more.
\r\n
LEVEL 4 SWIMMER: High Intermediate. Good endurance.
