Participants can choose between a 1 mile swim, a 5k Run, an Aquathlon (swim/run), or a 1 mile sand sprint. Points will be awarded for the top finishers for each event. Come learn all the tricks to swimming in the ocean: getting in and out of surf, swimming better, safer and faster!&nbsp; Must call the office (310-390-5700) to register.&nbsp; Other upcoming Ocean Clinics will take place Saturday 10am at Venice Beach 8/28, 9/18 and 9/25.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">*****************************</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">RESULTS OF USA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in San Juan, Puerto Rico last week: Jenny Cook won all 6 events that she entered in her age group: 800 free, 100 &amp; 200 breast, 200 &amp; 400 IM, and 200 fly.&nbsp; She will most likely finish with the best times in the USA this year for all of those events, except the 800 free, in her age group.&nbsp; She did not swim the 100 fly at Nationals, but she will end the year with the best time in that event also.&nbsp; This is a remarkable achievement for such a diverse set of events.&nbsp; Bruce Thomas won the 1,500 LC freestyle in the 50-54 age group.&nbsp; He also finished the season with the fastest time in the USA. Bruce also finished 3rd in the 400IM at Nationals.</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">******************************</span></p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">ENGLISH CHANNEL: SCAQ Coach Javier Gutierrez is raising funds for a Mexican Foundation called &ldquo;Strokes for Life&rdquo; that provides financial support for bone marrow transplants in young children with leukemia in Mexico. &quot;Strokes for Life&quot; is selling each of his 30,000 strokes (symbolic estimation) he will be doing in his attempt to improve his own record time of 8 hours 16 minutes swimming across the English Channel. His attempt will take place sometime between Aug 30 &ndash; Sept 6.
