The State Meet of the South Dakota LMSC.

Entry Requirements:
Swimmers must be registered members of United States Masters Swimming (USMS), or obtain a one-event registration.
Warm-up: 12:30-1:15 p.m. (CT)
Meet Start Time: 1:30 p.m. (CT)

The pool is an eight lane, 25-yard pool. 2 of the eight lanes will be dedicated warm-up/cool-down lanes throughout the meet. The pool has been measured and approved for Top 10 submissions by USMS.
Meet Conduct:
2024 USMS rules govern the conduct of the meet. All events will be electronically timed finals. Participants are limited to 5 individual events (not including relay).
Entry Fee:
The entry fee per swimmer is $40.00, which allows up to 5 individual events (not including relay). For non-USMS members, a One-Event registration may be purchased during the entry process for an additional $20.00. If the event is canceled, all fees will be refunded. No refunds for individual entries.
Entries:
Online entries only. Online entries are paid by debit/credit card to SDMASTERS. Swimmers from South Dakota are encouraged to register for the meet as South Dakota Prairie Masters (unless they are otherwise attached) and choose their closest city (Sioux Falls, Pierre, Rapid City, etc) as their workout group. Workout groups from South Dakota will be competing for the Golden Kickboard trophy (see below). Masters swimmers from other states and LMSCs are welcome to attend.
Relays:
Submissions for Events #1-3 (the women’s, men’s, or mixed medley relay) and Events #36-38 (the women’s, men’s, or mixed freestyle relay) will be accepted on deck at the event, at a time announced by meet management. Relay teams may either be all men, all women, or mixed (2 men & 2 women). Relays will not be scored toward Golden Kickboard high point totals (see below), but legal relay swims will be submitted to the USMS meet results database.
Deadline:
Registration will open at 8 a.m. (CT) on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 and will close at 11:59 p.m. (CT) on Monday, April 1, 2024. Individual deck entries will not be permitted.
Seeding:
Swimmers will be seeded according to their entry time and gender. Some races may be swum mixed gender to consolidate heats, at the meet directors’ discretion.
Awards:
Ribbons for places 1st-8th in each age group, will be available at our awards table in the community room. Check the table throughout the day to find labels and ribbons. Age groups are as follows (18-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc.) Individual swims are also eligible for inclusion in the South Dakota Masters State Meet record book (all swims) or the South Dakota LMSC record book (swims from registered South Dakota LMSC members only). These records are located at www.southdakotamasters.org.
Golden Kickboard Scoring:
The Golden Kickboard is an annual award given to the South Dakota club or workout group with the highest number of point totals from individual swims. One-event swimmers or swimmers registered in an LMSC outside of South Dakota are not eligible to compete for this distinction. Points are scored to eight places in each age group as 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Relay swims will not be scored to Golden Kickboard totals.
Concessions:
Water, sandwiches, and snacks will be provided at no cost for swimmers and volunteers during the meet and will be available in the community room of the facility. Swimmers may also bring their own snacks and beverages.
T-Shirts:
The t-shirt ordering deadline closed on 3/14/24; t-shirts are no longer available for purchase.
Annual Meeting/Social:
The annual meeting of the South Dakota LMSC will take place in the community room of the Aberdeen Family YMCA at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6. This includes social time with other swimmers and their guests - everyone is welcome to attend. You may bring your own lunch to this event, or purchase a box lunch from Ken’s SuperFair Foods for $8 per person. Payment for box lunches (which include a croissant sandwich, fruit, chips, cookie, and beverage) will be processed through the registration page of this website.
