Manhattan Racing Trials

Sanctioned by the Metropolitan LMSC for USMS, Inc. Sanction #061-09

FACILITY: Asphalt Green, located between 90th-92nd Streets and York Avenue in Manhattan. The entrance to the Asphalt Green AquaCenter is at 1750 York Avenue (at 91st Street). This will be an eight lane by twenty five yard competition course, with adjacent twenty yard continuous warm up and warm down space. Saturday, April 2:

     Warm-up begins at 5:30PM; meet starts promptly at 6:15PM

Sunday, April 3:

     Warm-up begins at 7:00AM; meet starts promptly at 7:45AM

     Meet will conclude by 10:00AM Sunday, April 3

DIRECTIONS: 

By Bus: Take the M86 or M31 to the York Avenue and 91st Street stop. The AquaCenter is across the street. 

By Subway: Take the Lexington Avenue 4, 5, or 6 train to the 86th Street station. Walk east to York Avenue and north to 90th Street. For the AquaCenter continue north to 91st Street. 

By Car: From Uptown: Travel south on the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street, and continue straight to York Avenue. From Downtown: Travel north on the FDR Drive. Exit at 96th Street. Turn left at second stoplight. Continue straight to York Avenue. Discounted Parking for participants is available at: The Andover Garage at 1675 York Avenue, between 88th and 89th Streets and The Hamilton Garage at 1735 York Avenue between 89th and 90th Streets. Ask at the Asphalt Green front desk for ticket validation.

WARM UP:  Diving IS NOT permitted during general warm-up period except when designated lanes are opened for one-way sprints.  Two 20-yard warm-up and cool-down lanes will be available throughout the meet.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all USMS-registered swimmers age 18 and older. Age determination date for this meet is April 3, 2011.  All participants must HAND IN a legible copy of their 2011 USMS registration card at check-in on event day.  No card - no swim.  Retrieve USMS card copy from www.clubassistant.com/club/usms.cfm.  

SEEDING:  Swimmers will be seeded in heats according to entry time, not by age and gender.   Heats will be contested slowest to fastest.  Heat sheets will be posted on the day of the meet. 

ENTRY FEES: $30 flat fee regardless of number of events entered.  RELAYS ARE FREE.  Online event registration requires a credit card and will reflect a charge from ClubAssistant.com Event Billing.  Entries are non-refundable.  Swimmers are strongly urged to use online registration.

ENTRY LIMIT: Swimmers are permitted to enter and swim a maximum of four (4) individual events and two (2) relay events each day.

DEADLINE:  Online registration OPENS February 23 and CLOSES Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 11:59PM. Paper mail-in entry RECEIPT (not postmark) deadline is Wednesday, March 23, 2011.  No late, faxed, emailed or incomplete entries will be accepted.
