Facility:  The meet will be held at the Butte Family YMCA, 2975 Washoe St., Butte, MT 59701.  The elevation of the facility is 5500’.  The pool is an 8-lane, 25-yard regulation short course pool with nine 6’ non-turbulent lane lines and Kiefer starting platforms.  The pool is 8’ deep at the start end and 4’ deep at the turn end.  The two (2) outside lanes will be reserved for warm up during the meet and there is a separate two (2) lane warm-up, cool down pool that will be available throughout the meet.  Temperature of the main pool will be approximately 80, warm-up/cool down pool 86-88.  The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.  Timing will be by an automatic Colorado Timing System with manual backup.  There is limited bleacher seating on the pool deck, so bring a chair for deck or balcony seating.  Parking is free and available next to the facility and across the street. 

Food and drink will be allowed on deck and in the locker rooms.  PLEASE NO GLASS!!  

Eligibility:  Currently registered USMS swimmers, 18 years and older.  Unregistered swimmers must sign up for USMS 2022 membership before registering for this meet. Register online for USMS membership at USMS.org.  There will be no One Event registration.  2022 USMS Rules will govern the meet.  

Age groups: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc.  Your competition age is the age you will be as of April 9, 2022.  Relay age groups: 18+, 25+, 35+, etc.  The age of the youngest relay team member shall determine the age group.  Times will be submitted for state, zone, and national recognition.  

Entry Limit:  Seven (7) individual events total, max of five (5) individual events per day (not including relays).  One (1) relay (same sex or mixed) per relay event. 

Safety: During warm up, swimmers must enter the pool feet first except in sprint lanes.  No paddles, kickboards or other devices/equipment are allowed.    

Entry Deadline:  Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 11:59pm.   Online entries only. 

Entry Fee:  $40.00. Online entries are paid by credit card and will appear on your statement as “MT Masters Swimming”.  There will be no refunds.  

Relays: Submit relay cards to the Clerk of Course by 9:00 AM for the 200 Medley relay, and by the start of the 200 Free (Event 17) for the 200 Free Relay.  Relay teams must be composed of members of the same club to qualify for records.  

Intermediate Split Times: Swimmers who would like one or more intermediate split times submitted as official times must complete a USMS Split Notification Form indicating the distance(s) for which splits should be submitted.  Forms will be available at the meet.  

Scoring:  Will be through six (6) places and by Club.  Relays will not be scored.  

Awards:  The LMSC Traveling Trophy will be awarded to the Club with the most individual points.  

Pizza Social and Annual Membership Meeting will be held Friday night at the conclusion of the 400 IM, 7 pm at Silver Bow Pizza, 3500 Harrison Ave, Butte MT 59701.  Please plan to attend.  During the social the LMSC annual membership meeting will be held.  Pizza provided by the LMSC, no-host beer and wine.  During registration you will be asked whether you will attend so we can plan for pizzas and space.  If you don’t say yes and want to come, or if you say yes and are unable to make it just give us a heads up. 

Lodging: Two Butte hotels have set aside a block of rooms for swimmers, 12 each.  Be sure to mention “Masters Swim Meet” and book before the cut-off date to get this price.
