This will not be a Pacific Masters Swimming Sanctioned event

All team member substitutions must be approved by the Race Directors prior to the event.

There is a $25 team member replacement fee for each replacement ($50 after July 1st, 2021)


Race Conditions

The water temperature on race-day typically ranges from 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The lake is at an altitude of more than 6,200 feet. The Trans Tahoe Relay is a rigorous event that requires a high level of physical fitness. Due to the anticipated water temperature, the altitude, the unpredictable ambient air temperature, and the distance of the swim, participants are advised to obtain approval from a physician prior to committing to this event. It is also recommended that competitors complete some training in similar conditions, prior to race day.

Wetsuits are not allowed! (Exception for Just for Fun Division)

Swimmer Eligibility

All relay team members must be currently registered with United States Masters Swimming (USMS) before completing the online form, and must be at least 18 years of age as of July 17th, 2021. For all swimmers not currently registered with USMS that you are listing today, please use this link to register them before continuing to the next page.

The next page will require "accurate" USMS Registration information (2020 USMS #, First Name, Middle Initial if applicable, Last Name and Date of Birth) for all 6 Team Members. No alternates need be listed. If you need to replace a team member, you will be able to do that until July 1st to be eligible to change age division. Any team member changes after that date that affects division status will place your team in the Open Division. There is a $25 change of swimmer fee per swimmer with receipt of an executed liability waiver/release and confirmation of same in writing from the Race Director.

Team Divisions

Team Divisions will be determined by sex and the combined ages of the six individual team members (See Chart below). The minimum age for participants is 18 years. Team member age is determined by age on December 31st, 2021, in accordance with 2019 USMS Open Water rules. Relays in the Mixed Division must be comprised of three male, and three female swimmers. Relays not conforming to the Sex/Age-Group criteria listed above may enter the Open Division. Remember that all teams must consist of 6 swimmers to qualify for this event. On race day, colored caps will be issued to identify the different relay divisions. All relays will follow the race format of 6 x 30-minute legs, and finishing with 6 x 10-minute legs. You must wear the official race caps.

Entries

Entries will be limited. Please enter early to guarantee your spot. No paper entries will be accepted for this year's event. The signatures of all swimmers and $750 check must be received for entry consideration. We will only accept one check for $750 per team. ***Do not send separate checks from individual team members.*** They will be returned. Team Entry Signature page completed by all team members and should be returned by mail to the address below as soon as possible. Do not send USMS Cards with team registration form. Incomplete entries will be held until all pertinent information is received. Delays may result in your team not being entered in the race due to the number of prior entries accepted.

All entries will close June 1, 2021 or when the race reaches the 200 team mark. On that date any incomplete entries will be discarded and replaced with another team. Once the 200 team mark is reached, a waiting list will be created to fill any unaccepted entries or voided team spots up to July 1, 2021.

The 2021 Entry Fee is $800.00 and due by check 14 days from the date of online entry. We will provide you with additional race information once you have been accepted into the event.

A portion of this year's proceeds will go to Keep Tahoe Blue, Skylandia and Sand Harbor Parks Department

Acceptance Notification

Teams accepted will be listed on the Official Team List on the website www.TransTahoeRelay.com once approved. Each team must provide a representative at the mandatory captain’s meeting on Friday, July 16th, 2021.

Note: The Olympic Club Committee reserves the right to deny acceptance to this event.
