From East: Take I-10 west and exit on Eldridge Parkway and take a right on Eldridge and a right on Dairy Ashford. From West: Take I-10 east and exit on Eldridge Parkway and take a left on Eldridge and a right on Dairy Ashford. Please enter in Gate C (on your left) and stop at the guard shack to show your i.d. Please park in the parking garage on Level 2 and there you will enter into the facility. Wellness-Fitness Services is the second door on your left.

Instructors: Mel Goldstein, Scott Bay and Bill Brenner

Mel Goldstein was the 2001 Speedo US Masters Coach of the year, Mel won the 1997 Ransom J. Arthur MD Award that goes annually to a person who best supports the objectives of Masters swimming. It is the highest honor bestowed by United States Masters Swimming. He is a past President of USMS and a USMS All American with 255 Individual Top Ten Achievements. Mel was inducted into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame in 2012.

Scott Bay is an ASCA Level V Coach and has been actively coaching for 20 Years. He is currently the Chair of the Florida Athletic Coaches Association, Chair of the FHSAA Swimming and Diving Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Florida LMSC and Chairman of the USMS Coaches Committee.

Bill Brenner is the Club and Coach Services Director for USMS. He has 30 years coaching experience working with age group, college and Masters swimmers. He enjoys attracting adult athletes to the sport of swimming and coaching all levels of ability.

Prerequisites: You must be a Masters Certified Level 2 coach and a current USMS Member to participate in the course. Level 2 and Level 3 cannot be taken during the same weekend. You must be a member of ASCA to receive certification. ASCA and USMS Membership information is provided on the application for this clinic. ASCA Membership fee is $70 for one year. Certification Process: Upon successful completion of the certification process, including all required memberships, applications and completed tests, each person will be awarded a USMS/ASCA Level 3 Coaches Certification certificate.

Fees: $225 for Level 3 Course.

Maximum: Maximum attendance is 30.

Who should attend? Current full-time, part-time or volunteer coaches who would like to explore the possibilities of coaching Masters swimmers as a profession. Anyone interested in supporting their existing team and coach. Anyone interested in starting a Masters Program.

Scholarships: The Gulf LMSC will cover the costs of this certification course to the first 30 Gulf LMSC members to register. For non-Gulf LMSC members please consult your LMSC for scholarship availability. If for any reason you are unable to attend after you have registered please notify Bill Brenner bill.brenner@usms.org no later than February 10th.
