Instructor

Gloria Waggoner is a USMS Adult Learn to Swim certified lead instructor, a USMS Level 3 Masters coach, and an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. She has taught and coached swimming to people of all ages and ability levels.
Gloria was an age-group swimmer, and in her teens was a member of Olympic Coach Peter Daland's Los Angeles Athletic Club women's team. Gloria rekindled her passion for competitive swimming in 2001 when she began training for triathlons. In 2004, Gloria joined a community board to fund, design and build the Kroc Community Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. When the facility was finished, Gloria accepted a position as the Kroc Program Director. She provided leadership in developing innovative aquatic programs for community members of all ages, including Learn to Swim, Third Grade Swim and the USMS Kroc Masters team. She has placed at USMS Open Water and Short Course National Championship events, and earned Top 10 rankings and an All American relay award. In 2014, the Kroc Center honored Gloria as the first member of the Kroc Aquatic Hall of Fame.
