Instructor Certification Adult Learn to Swim
U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS ALTS instructor certification course on Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Fairfield, CA.
Sunday, March 6
Check-in: 8-8:30 a.m.
Classroom instruction: 8:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Lunch: 12:30 p.m.*
In-water pool instruction: 2-4 p.m.
*Lunch will be provided by USMS. Please note that most of the lunches are sandwich-based and do not always include a vegetarian option or recognize dietary restrictions and food allergies. If you have food restrictions, please feel free to bring something that will accommodate your needs.

Instructor
Debbie Koenig is the owner and founder of Debbie’s Swim School in Northern California. She teaches all levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers looking to perfect their stroke mechanics, and specializes in helping students overcome severe aquaphobia. Debbie is a USMS Adult Learn to Swim certified lead instructor and a USMS Level 3 certified Masters coach. She has collaborated with USMS in raising awareness of the importance of adults knowing how to swim. Additionally, Debbie is an instructor-trainer who teaches and certifies instructors in American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguarding, and first aid and safety courses.
ALTS Prerequisites
You must be a current USMS member to participate in the course and receive USMS ALTS Instructor certification. You must be able to perform the following five water-competency skills:
ALTS certification course registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. However, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location. Questions, please email Holly Neumann at holly.neumann@usms.org.
