As a proud sponsor of the NY TRI EXPO 2016, U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS levels 1&2 Masters coach certification course on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in New York city. The TRI expo is schedule for Saturday, March 19 from 10:00 am to 6pm at Citi Field in New York City.

Instructors: Dominic Latella and Bill Brenner
Dominic Latella has a decade of experience training Masters swimmers around the world. He is a USMS Adult Learn to Swim certified lead instructor and an instructor for the U.S. Masters Swimming Masters coach certification classes. He has been appointed twice -- the max amount -- as a coach for USMS High Performance Camp. He also works with wounded servicemen and women, providing swimming rehabilitation and adaptive swimming instruction at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He is an adjunct professor of Health and Fitness at American University and is the owner of SwimBox, a swimming-lesson company that utilizes the technology of an Endless Pool to give swimmers of all levels an advantage in learning proper swimming technique.
Bill Brenner is the Interim C.E.O.and Education Director of USMS. He has 30 years coaching experience working with age group, college and Masters swimmers. Bill has served as a support team member for his local Masters club, team representative to the LMSC, an LMSC officer as the Top Ten Recorder, a multi-year delegate to the USAS convention and a member of national committees. He has served as the meet director for multiple events, helped organize the 2013 Pan American Masters championship and hosted the 2014 and 2015 YMCA Masters national championship in Sarasota, Fla.. A USMS Level 4 certified Masters coach, he enjoys attracting adult athletes to the sport of swimming and coaching all levels of ability.
Prerequisites
You must be a current USMS Member to participate in the course and receive USMS certification.
Certification Process
Upon successful completion of the classroom coursework, including all required applications and successfully completed tests, each person will be awarded USMS Level 1 or 2 Certified Masters Coach certification.
Fees
$180 for Levels 1 and 2 Certification. $100 for Level 1 or Level 2 only.
Maximum
Maximum attendance is 40.

Current full-time, part-time, volunteer coaches or anyone interested in becoming a Masters coach. Anyone interested in starting or supporting a Masters program.

The NY TRI Expo 2016 will be a full day event filled with three different learning tracks ranging from Tips to a faster swim leg and injury prevention to do you need a power meter to running faster off the bike. There will be something for the new triathlete as well as the experienced long course triathlete. USMS Education Director, Bill Brenner, will be moderating two panels and will be giving a presentation on breathing easier during the swim. Coach certification registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. However, If you can provide the USMS national office with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the start of the scheduled course, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location. Written email notification must be sent to clubandcoach@usmastersswimming.org
