Instructors: Jillian Wilkins and Mel Goldstein
Jillian Wilkins is an active member of the U.S. Masters Swimming. She is owner of the Lane 4 Swim School by Rowdy Gaines and Event Coordinator for the YMCA Aquatic Center in Orlando, Fla She serves as Vice-Chair of the Florida LMSC and is a member of the USMS Championship committees. Jillian is a U.S. Olympics Trials qualifier and continues her successful competitive swimming career in local and national Masters events. Jillian is an ASCA level 3 Masters coach and a level 3 U.S. Swim School Association instructor.
Mel Goldstein was the 2001 Speedo US Masters Coach of the year, Mel won the 1997 Ransom J. Arthur MD Award that goes annually to a person who best supports the objectives of Masters swimming. It is the highest honor bestowed by United States Masters Swimming. He is a past President of USMS and a USMS All American with 255 Individual Top Ten Achievements. In 2012, he was inducted into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.
Prerequisites
You must be a current USMS Member to participate in the course and receive USMS certification.
Certification Process
Upon successful completion of the classroom coursework, including all required applications and successfully completed tests, each person will be awarded USMS Level 1 or 2 Certified Masters Coach certification.
Fees
$180 for Levels 1 and 2 Certification. $100 for Level 1 or Level 2 only.
Maximum
Maximum attendance is 40.
Who should attend?
Current full-time, part-time, volunteer coaches or anyone interested in becoming a Masters coach. Anyone interested in starting or supporting a Masters program.
Scholarships
The SC LMSC will offer scholarships for one individual per club registered with the SC LMSC to attend the coach certification class. The scholarship will include reimbursement of 50% of the course registration fee and 50% of travel expenses up to $200 ($100 reimbursement). A USMS Stroke Development Clinic is scheduled for Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the LTP Swimming and Tennis Club, 1513 Mathis Ferry Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. All coaches who attend this coach certification class are eligible to attend as a coach on deck at no charge.
Online registration only. Registration closes at midnight Pacific time on Friday, May 13, 2016 or when the course enrollment reaches 40.

Coach certification registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. However, If you can provide the USMS national office with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the start of the scheduled course, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location. Written email notification must be sent to clubandcoach@usmastersswimming.org
