The Hilton Garden Inn is located less than 1 mile from the Dunwoody MARTA station and the Hilton offers a shuttle (call the hotel direct for pick up 404-459-0500) or you could use UBER to get from the train station to the hotel. The Dunwoody station is on the MARTA Red Line and you could take the Red line directly from the airport to the Dunwoody station , it is about a 40 minute train ride. You can also take MARTA from downtown Atlanta (26 minutes), use the Civic Center station which is a 6 minute walk from the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.

Instructors: Scott Bay and Bill Brenner
Scott Bay is an ASCA Level 5 Certified Coach and has been actively coaching and teaching swimming since 1986 at a variety of levels. High School swimmers he has coached have gone to state meets and placed in the top ten on numerous occasions and Masters swimmers he currently coaches include National Champions, All Americans, and World Record Holders who have swam to over 300 top ten USMS swims and more than 30 World records in just the last 5 years. Throughout a career that includes teaching swim lessons, coaching Age Groupers and Senior Swimmers, as well as Triathletes and adults, Bay has taught literally thousands how to swim or how to swim better. He has also written numerous articles on technique and coaching for both websites and publications in addition to being a major contributor to the revised USMS/ASCA certification curriculum and presents at clinics across the country.
Bill Brenner is the Education Director for USMS. He has 30+ years coaching experience working with age group, college and Masters swimmers. Bill has served as a support team member for his local Masters club, team representative to the LMSC, an LMSC officer as the Top Ten Recorder, a multi-year delegate to the USAS convention and a member of national committees. He has served as the meet director for multiple events, helped organize the 2013 Pan American Masters championship and hosted the 2014, 2015 and 2016 YMCA Masters national championship in Sarasota, Fla.. A USMS Level 4 certified Masters coach, he enjoys attracting adult athletes to the sport of swimming and coaching all levels of ability.
Prerequisites
You must be a current USMS Member to participate in the course and receive USMS certification.
Certification Process
Upon successful completion of the classroom coursework, including all required applications and successfully completed tests, each person will be awarded USMS level 1 or 2 Certified Masters Coach certification.
Fees
$180 for levels 1 and 2 certification. $100 for level 1 or level 2 only. Please note that levels 1 and 2 coach certification are designed to be taken together, on the same day, since we usually do not return to the same location each year. Level 1 is offered in the morning and level 2 follows in the afternoon.
Maximum
Maximum attendance is 40.
Who should attend?
Current full-time, part-time, volunteer coaches or anyone interested in becoming a Masters coach. Anyone interested in starting or supporting a Masters program.
Scholarships
The Georgia LMSC is offering full scholarships to cover coach certification fees for all GA LMSC coaches who successfully complete level 1 & 2 USMS Masters coach certification class. Coaches will need to submit a copy of their certification for reimbursement after the class.

Your online registration for this course will be paid by credit card and processed by Club Assistant. Please look for "ClubAssistant.com Events" on your credit card statement.
Lodging
USMS has arranged for a discounted hotel room rate of $179 per night at the Hilton Garden Inn for Tuesday, September 20, 2016. If you are interested in securing a hotel reservation for this event please contact the Hilton Garden Inn direct at 404-459-0500 and mention the US Masters Swimming event taking place at the hotel on September 21, 2016. Thre are a limited number of rooms available at this rate and the cut-off date for this special rate is August 30, 2016.

Coach certification registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. However, If you can provide the USMS national office with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the start of the scheduled course, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location. Written email notification must be sent to clubandcoach@usmastersswimming.org
