Instructor Certification Adult Learn to Swim
U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS ALTS instructor certification course on Saturday, Oct. 5, in Tallahassee, Florida.
Saturday, Oct. 5
Check-in: 7:30-8 a.m.
Classroom instruction: 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Lunch: 12 p.m.*
In-water pool instruction: 1:30-3:30 p.m.
*Lunch will be provided by USMS. Please note that most of the lunches are sandwich-based and do not always include a vegetarian option or recognize dietary restrictions and food allergies. If you have food restrictions, please feel free to bring along something that will accommodate your needs.

Instructor
Holly Neumann manages the USMS Adult Learn-to-Swim Initiative and coordinates the grant process for the USMS Swimming Save Lives Foundation. A lifelong swimmer, she is USMS certified as both a lead ALTS instructor and Level 3 Masters coach. She is also a Masters and age-group coach for the Sarasota Tsuanmi program. Before making a professional move into aquatics, Holly was a journalist working on the local news and copy desks of The San Diego Union-Tribune. She started as a sportswriter at The Bakersfield Californian. Holly swam in college for California State University Bakersfield. She loves the camaraderie found in a Masters workout and finds great joy in helping others to learn to swim and enjoy the water safely.
ALTS Prerequisites
You must be a current USMS member to participate in the course and receive USMS ALTS Instructor certification. You must be able to perform the following five water-competency skills:
Certification Process
ALTS certification course registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. However, you may transfer your registration to a course at an alternate date and location. Questions, please email Holly Neumann at holly.neumann@usms.org.
