Freestyle Fundamentals

Virtual Aquatics Swim Team (VAST) is hosting a freestyle stroke development clinic for swimmers of all ability levels. Swimmers will learn how to incorporate different drills into their training routine that are designed to both improve stroke efficiency and training effectiveness. Coaches will provide demonstrations as well as event takeaways that attendees can bring home with them. The goal is to add new tools to a swimmer’s toolbox.

Mentor Coach

Doug Adamavich is an award-winning swimmer and volunteer who has a passion for aquatics. He has been a competitive swimmer since 1982 and a swimming instructor since 1985. Recently Doug became both a US Masters Swimming Level III Certified Coach and an Certified Adult Learn To Swim Instructor. He has also been active as a volunteer in US Masters Swimming since 2002 serving in a number of different roles on both the LMSC and National level. Last year he won the Gruender Award for his contributions to masters swimming in the State of Arizona over the past decade. His objective now is to help other adults become better swimmers and enjoy the benefits of aquatics fitness.
