American River Water Polo Club is planning to take a 10U Coed team to USA Water Polo’s marquee event, National Junior Olympics, for the 10th consecutive year. This is a great opportunity for our young athletes to compete against teams from across the country in a festival atmosphere. ARWPC’s goal in sending a team is to expose as many young girls and boys to national-caliber water polo event, while having a fun and memorable experience. Participation in Junior Olympics is not required to participate in the summer 10U program. There is a separate fee for participation in Junior Olympics to cover entry fee and coaches’ travel costs (estimated about $185 depending on number of athletes on team).

More Info:
The 10 & Under Coed team is meant to be an introductory level of competitive club play. Open to boys and girls 4th grade & Under (10U). This is the youngest competitive team in our club and is open to introduce young water polo players to club water polo by laying a foundation of fundamental skills, character and value lessons, and plenty of water polo fun. We are not looking for the biggest and fastest kids at age 8, 9 or 10 (though we will gladly welcome them!), but rather kids that love the water and are looking for a fun, team sport to play while in the pool. Good swimming ability is essential, as water polo is hard to enjoy if you are barely able to keep up with the other players.

Prior experience with American River WPC is not required, though good swimming ability is a must. Athletes who are unsure if they will be able to keep up or if they will enjoy this level of water polo are encouraged to register and attend the first practice.
