Pilot Registration for Swim Around Lido

Be an escort pilot for the 1st Annual Swim Around Lido Key open water swimmers!

The Swim Around Lido Key race is going to be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015. We're looking for volunteer pilots (kayakers, paddle boarders) to escort open water swimmers around the island of Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida. This is a 7-mile swim/paddle where the pilot will provide navigation, safety and food/water for the swimmer. The pilot is an essential component of the swimmers success!

The race will start and finish at the Lido Public Beach in the south parking lot. The official race hotel, Lido Beach Resort Hotel, is offering discounted room rates. Call (800) 441-2113 if you would like to book a hotel room at a discounted rate. Each volunteer pilot receives a free race T-shirt, post race meal, special gift just for the pilots, free beer, and a SWAG bag. The pre-race safety meeting is taking place Sunday morning prior to the race. You can also check-in then or come to our social Saturday evening from 3-5PM at the St. Armands Daiquiri Deck and check-in then. If you haven't already done so, each pilot will meet their swimmer during this meeting. The race is Sunday morning starting at 8 AM (pilots should plan to be there between 6 and 7 AM) with awards around 2 PM or so.
