Pilot Registration for Swim Around Lido 2016

Escort (pilot) for a swimmer in the 2nd Annual Swim Around Lido Key!

Where: Lido Beach, Sarasota, Florida

We're looking for volunteer pilots (kayakers, paddle boarders) to escort open water swimmers around the island of Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida. This is a 7-mile swim/paddle where the pilot will provide navigation, safety and food/water for the swimmer. The pilot is an essential component of the swimmers success!

The race will start and finish at the Lido Public Beach in the south parking lot. The official race hotel, Lido Beach Resort Hotel, is offering discounted room rates. Call (800) 441-2113 if you would like to book a hotel room at a discounted rate. When calling, ask for the "Swim Around Lido" discounted race rate.

Each volunteer pilot receives a free race T-shirt, post race meal, special gift, free beer, and a SWAG bag. The pre-race safety meeting is taking place Saturday morning prior to the race. You can also check-in then or come to our social Friday evening from 4-6PM at the St. Armands Daiquiri Deck and check-in then. If you haven't already done so, each pilot will meet their swimmer during the social. The race is Saturday morning starting at 8 AM (pilots should plan to be there between 6 and 7 AM) with awards around 2 PM or so.
