Pilot Registration for Swim Around Lido 2017

We're looking for volunteer pilots (kayakers, paddle boarders) to escort open water solo swimmers around the island of Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida. This is a 7-mile swim/paddle where the pilot will provide navigation, safety and food/water for the swimmer. The pilot is an essential component of the swimmers success and they won't be able to do it without your help! The race will start and finish at the Lido Public Beach in the south parking lot on Lido Key.

Each volunteer pilot receives:

• $60 gift card after the race is over (Note: this gift card is ONLY for our volunteer pilots who we assign to a swimmer. It's not for pilots who are coming with a swimmer that we didn't provide.)
• Official race t-shirt
• Excellent post race meal
• Free beer provided by our sponsors
• Official race pint glass after the race is over

You can check-in at our pre-race social Friday evening from 4-6PM at the St. Armands Daiquiri Deck or  check-in race day morning. The pre-race safety meeting is taking place Saturday morning prior to the race, which you MUST attend.  You will receive an email about one week prior to the race introducing you to your swimmer...please make contact with them and communitcate with them about their race plans.

The race is Saturday morning starting at 8 AM (pilots should plan to be there between 6 and 7 AM) with awards around 2 PM or so.
