Course:                       
8 lane, 25 yard indoor heated pool will be in use. All 8 lanes will be used for competition.  The Colorado System 6 timing system will be used. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with USMS articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.  You can expect pool temperatures to be between 80-82 degrees.  

Schedule:                         
Warm-up begins at 8:00am. You will have access to all 8 lanes for warm-up.  Meet starts at 9:00am. No diving or swimming equipment (paddles, kickboard, etc.) will be allowed during warm-up.  Feet-first entry only.  Swimmers not swimming the 500 can expect to warm-up around 9:40 am at the conclusion of the 500.  Second warm up will last 25 minutes.  Event 2 will start at 10:10am.  Cool down lanes will be available in the diving well right next to the competition pool.  This will also be available for warm-up as well.  

Rules:                        
USMS rules will govern this meet. Swimmers must be registered with USMS for 2021. One day USMS registration will be available. When warming up, you must enter the pool feet first except in sprint lanes. No paddles or kickboards are allowed. NO DIVING will be allowed during ANY breaks.

One-event registration is strictly for insurance coverage for the event. OEVT are not eligible for any Event Rankings, Top 10, USMS records, or other honors achieved in that event. Per Article 301.3.1 of the USMS Rule Book.

The times recorded from the 25's are not eligible for USMS records.

COVID Safety Protocols:
HAWK Masters reserves the right to alter COVID-19 protocols based on local, state, and national guidelines at the time of the event. Here is what is currently planned for the 2021 Coastal Masters FUN-vitational. Any updates will be posted on this page and emailed to registered swimmers prior to the event.

-Hawk Masters encourages members to be vaccinated for COVID-19, but we understand it is a personal decision based on individual factors.
-Hawk Masters is not requiring COVID-19 vaccination for participation in this meet.
-All participants are required to fill out this USMS liability release form during the registration process.
-Do not attend if you’re experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19. If you experience symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 within two weeks after the conclusion of the event, please contact hawkmastersswimming@gmail.com.

-The UNCW Natatorium is a large facility that can typically accommodate up to 800 people. To allow for social distancing, capacity has been reduced to 200 maximum swimmer and 100 spectators.  
-Spectators will be seated in the balcony bleachers.
- Please be flexible with your warm-up routine to avoid overcrowding and be considerate of your fellow swimmers. 
-The most recent USMS liability release form must be executed by each participant during the event registration process. To be clear, USMS liability insurance doesn’t cover transmission of viral or bacterial infections.
-There is ample seating areas to spread out. Please don’t congregate in crowded areas.
-Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the facility
-Common areas and surfaces will be sanitized by University personnel.

-Attendees will be required to wear a mask covering the nose and mouth inside the facility at all times except while swimming. Swimmers should remove their mask just before entering the water and put their mask on as soon as they exit the water. Please bring extra masks and Ziploc bags to keep your masks dry. It’s also recommended you write your name on your mask(s).

-Officials will be spaced, as needed, for social distancing.
-Timers will be given ample space behind the blocks during events and will only step forward to record the finish of each heat.

-Relays will be held with one heat of swimmers behind the blocks at one time.

-Awards may be picked up after the meet at the meet social (as allowed by local and state guidelines).



Entries:                         
Online entries only.  Deadline for entries is 11:59pm EST Saturday October 23th, 2021. No paper entries will be accepted and no deck entries will be accepted at the meet.

Fees:                           
$35.00 flat fee which includes the BBQ Social through September 30.  Fee increases to $40 on October 1st.  There is a $15 one day "One Event Registration" fee available for those that are not USMS members. No extra charge for relays. Online entries are paid by credit card to ClubAssistant.com Events. There will be no refunds unless the meet is cancelled, in which case $20.00 of the fee paid will be retained and $15.00 will be refunded. If inclement weather occurs, the staff will determine by 2:00 p.m. Friday October 29, if the center will or will not open the following morning. If it opens, the meet will be held.

Post Meet Social:
A post meet BBQ social will be held at Long Leaf Park 314 Pine Grove Dr. 28409 directly following the meet.  The social is free for registered swimmers. Guests are $10 for adults, and $5 for children.  We will be handing out awards and prizes at the social!  Check your meet email for directions.

Seeding:                     
All events will be seeded by time from slow to fast. The 500 will be capped at 40 swimmers and will include a positive check-in which will close at 8:30am.

Scoring:                     
Points will be awarded as follows:
Individuals: 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
Relays: 22-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2

All team awards must be picked up from Clerk of Course the day of the meet OR be picked up at the social directly following the meet. No awards will be mailed.

Limit and Order of Events: Limit is six individual events plus any relay events. 

DON'T MISS Event #19 - the truly unique Mixed 100 Y Relays!  You do not need to choose a team, the meet directors will organize the relay teams based on entrants. Each team member will swim a 25.  The 3 relay events will be: 1- the famous and fast, free relay, 2- everyone's favorite floatie relay, and 3 - the Pumpkin Relay - new for 2021! Fun prizes for the winning teams.
