Sanction: Sanctioned by AZ LMSC for USMS Inc., 483-S001 & 483-S002 

Eligibility: Any swimmer with a valid 2023 USMS registration. USMS will also offer a one-event membership for a fee of $20. Times swum under one-event registration are not eligible for USMS Top 10 or records consideration. International entries must include a copy of the swimmer’s FINA recognized Masters Swimming registration card and fees in U.S. dollars. The online registration process will verify that each entrant has a valid 2023 USMS registration card; otherwise, a FINA-recognized Masters Swimming card or one-event membership must be submitted. Rules: 2023 USMS rules apply. All events are timed finals. Swimmers may swim one, two, or all three events. Due to the combination of yards and meters events, age group will be based on the date of the swim for yards and December 31, 2023 for meters.

Swimmers who exceed the time limits for each event (1650: 60-minutes, 1000: 35-minutes, and the 1500: 60-minutes) will be stopped.

Timing: Split times may be requested in writing and the request forms will be available at registration.

Seeding: All events will be seeded mixed men and women fastest to slowest based on entry times. Seed times must be current. They may be verified and adjusted by the meet director. 

Awards: Commemorative embroidered towels will be awarded to each male and female age-group winner based on total time for all three events. Standard 5-year age groupings (60 – 64, etc.) based on age as of December 31, 2023. The “Conquistador” medal will be awarded to all swimmers completing all 3 events. There are no team awards.

Entries and fees: Online registration only. Flat entry fee of $30 per event or $75 for all 3 events plus $20 USMS for non USMS members for the one event membership.
•    Fee includes a meet T-shirt for participants entering all three events.
•    Registration will be limited to the first 110 entrants.
•    Anyone with COVID-19-like symptoms cannot compete or enter the facility.

No deck entries, mail or fax entries will be accepted.

Facility: The Oro Valley Aquatic Center (OVAC) is located next to Canyon del Oro High School in the James D. Kriegh Park, 23 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ 85704. This is an outdoor 50-meter by 25-yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines, electronic timing and without a bulkhead. The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

The 1650- and 1000-yard events will be competed in a 25-yard configuration with 10 competition lanes. The pool will be reconfigured to 50-meters with 8 competition lanes for the 1500 event. A 25-yard pool will be available for warm-up and cool-down during the meet.

Restrooms, drinking fountains, showers, and a changing area are available, but there are no available lockers. Bring your own food if needed, as no concessions will be offered at the meet. Temperatures may vary significantly during the day, and sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen) are highly recommended.

Location: Directions from I-10: Ina Rd. exit #125, east on Ina to Oracle Rd., left (north) on Oracle to Calle Concordia, left (west) on Calle Concordia, pool is on your right in 1⁄4 mile. There is a parking lot available directly east of the pool on Calle Concordia.

Accommodations: Numerous hotels are available in the Oro Valley, AZ and Northwest Tucson, AZ region.

Climate: The climate in Oro Valley at the end of February is typically sunny with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s.

Check-in: Swimmers may check in at SwimPhone.com beginning at 6pm on February 24 or in-person at the meet on Feb 25 and 26.
