U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS "How-to put on a clinic" course for coaches on Saturday & Sunday, October 5th & 6th, 2019 in Denver, CO.

The USMS Clinic Course for Coaches, offered by USMS Education Services, instructs the Masters coach or adult learn-to-swim instructor how to conceptualize, organize and deliver a stroke development clinic (SDC). The course consists of both a classroom and on-deck component.  The registration for the clinic course is limited to 12 coaches per class. Instructor: Dave Burgess

Dave Burgess is highly involved in U.S. Masters, high school, and age group swimming. He is the head coach of the Podium Swim Club, a U.S. Masters Swimming group based in Colorado Springs, which caters to swimmers and triathletes who are looking to improve performance, as well as those that are relatively new to swimming. He is also the head coach of the Discovery Canyon High School men's swim team, as well as an assistant coach with Colorado Springs Aquatics swim club. He is a USMS Adult Learn To Swim certified lead instructor, a USMS Level 3 Masters coach, a USA Swimming / ASCA level 3 coach, and is a USA Triathlon level 2 certified coach . Dave also holds a certificate in sports and performance nutrition.

Prerequisites
You must be a Masters coach who has successfully completed Level 1, or higher, of the USMS Masters coach certification or be a USMS-certified adult learn-to-swim instructor. Current USMS membership is also required.

Fees
$50.00 per coach. USMS-designated Masters coaches and certified ALTS instructors receive a $10 discount during the online registration process.

Maximum
Maximum attendance is 12 coaches.

Who should attend?
Certified Masters coaches who want to develop the skills and resources necessary to host a successful stroke development clinic. ALTS instructors who want to learn stroke-development drills and techniques to use with advanced-beginner swimmers.

Online Registration
Online registration only. Registration closes at midnight Pacific time on Friday, October 4, 2019 or when the course enrollment reaches 12.

Online Registration is Paid by Credit Card
Your online registration for this course will be paid by credit card and processed by Club Assistant. Please look for "ClubAssistant.com Events" on your credit card statement.

Cancellation Policy

Clinic course registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. If you can provide the USMS national office with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the start of the scheduled clinic course, you may transfer your registration to a clinic course at an alternate date and location. Written email notification must be sent to Marianne Groenings: mgroenings@usmastersswimming.org.
