2008 SHORT COURSE METERS MEET

Eligibility

Open to all registered Masters Swimmers holding a valid 2008 USMS Card. For further information on registration, contact Mitch Mitchell at rammedd@hotmail.com.

Rules

2008 USMS rules apply. All events are timed finals. There is a limit of four (4) individual events per day plus relays. Age is determined based on the age of the competitor on December 31st, 2008.

Entry Fees

$35 (online entry fee) covers all events a swimmer enters (no more than 4/day).

Paper Entries

Mail your entry card, check and photocopy of your USMS Card to: Katy James 723 East Diamond Street Tempe, AZ 85283 **NOTE** Paper entries are $40.00.

Seeding

All events will be pre-seeded (Women & Men together) slowest to fastest. Due to time constraints, events 800 meters and above may need to be limited in size. This will be done on a first come first serve basis. Swimmers may enter only the 1500 or 800.

Relays

Relay entries will be due to the meet director TBA.

Scoring

Top eight places within each age group and sex will score points: 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Awards

Individual high point awards will be given for the meet.

Results

During the meet, results will be posted. At the end of the meet, results will be posted online.

The Ironman distance of 4K (2.4 miles) will be offered on Saturday morning as an event. There will be one heat only and swimmers may be asked to swim 2 in a lane.


Following the Saturday session, swimmers are invited to a social event to be announced. Directions will be available at the meet.

Order of Events:

Friday – Warm-up starts at 5:00 pm - Meet begins at 6:00 pm.

Saturday – Warm-ups for the pool 4K (2.4 mile) swim starts at 8:00 am – The 4K (2.4M) begins at 9:00 am.

Swimmers must bring their own lap counter. There will a limit of one heat; swimmers may swim 2 per lane due to number of entries. There will be a 30 minute warmup in the competition pool at the conclusion of the 4K.

Sunday – Warm-ups at 9:00 am and the meet begins at 10:00.am.
