Greater Indiana Masters Swimming is proud to announce our first Winter Postal Challenge. This is a chance for swimmers from all over the state to compete against swimmers from other programs without the cost of travel.

Entry Period:
Swims must be completed between 01/01/16 - 2/29/16 (yes.... it’s a leap year).

Entry Fee:
Entries are FREE for GRIN members; $10 per course (or maximum 5 events per day) for USMS members outside the GRIN LMSC. Checks in US Funds should be payable to Greater Indiana Masters Swimming. All fees are nonrefundable.

Eligibility:
The postal will be open to all registered USMS swimmers.

Age Groups:
Participants will compete in USMS age group categories: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, ..., 95-99, 100+. Age will be determined by the swimmer’s age on February 29, 2016.

Challenges:
Participants can choose from one of the following Challenges or swim up to 5 events of their own choosing. Only swimmers participating in the Pentathlon Challenge(s) will receive Top 3 Certificates.

• Sprint Pentathlon - 25’s of each stroke + 100 IM
• Mid-Distance Pentathlon - 50’s of each stroke + 200 IM
• Distance Pentathlon - 100’s of each stroke + 400 IM

Individual Events:
Individuals may choose one of the pentathlon challenges or a combination of any five (5) events. Individual events will be scored and reported. Awards will be given to challenge entries only.

Rules:

• All results will be based on a 25-yard pool. Swims completed in meter pools must indicate that their entries are from a meters pool (either SCM or LCM), so the times can be converted into a SCY equivalent.
• Meet results will be listed for each individual event, as well as the combined pentathlon results. Meet results will be posted on the GRIN website.
• It is recommended that the pentathlon events be swum in IM order (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle) with the Individual Medley being swum last.
• The pentathlon events must be swum during the same day and it is recommended that all 5 events be swum in a 2-3 hour period.
• Participants may select the Spring, Mid-Distance, or Distance Pentathlon. If you desire to swim more than one challenge, each challenge must be swum on a separate day and submitted on separate entry forms.
• All times must be recorded to 1/100th of a second. Times not reporting tenths or hundredths will have 9’s inserted for the missing digits.
• Incomplete or illegible entries will be returned. All fees are nonrefundable.
• Sanctioned by GRIN for USMS, Inc. - Sanction # TBA
