The State Meet of the South Dakota LMSC.

Entry Requirements: Swimmers must be registered USMS members, or obtain a one-event registration.

Warm-up #1: 8:30 a.m. CDT
Session #1 Start Time: 9:15 a.m. CDT (Events 1 and 2, 800 meter freestyle)
Warm-up #2: 10:15 a.m. CDT
Session #2 Start Time: 11:00 a.m. CDT (Events 3-35)

Meet Location:
DakotaDome Pool
1101 N. Dakota St.
Vermillion, SD 57069
The pool is a six lane, 25-meter pool. 1-2 of the six lanes will be dedicated warm-up/cool-down lanes throughout the meet. The pool has been measured and approved for Top 10 submissions by USMS.

Meet Conduct:
2023 USMS rules govern the conduct of the meet. All events will be electronically timed finals. Participants are limited to 5 individual events (not including relay).

Entry Fee:
The entry fee per swimmer is $40.00, which allows up to 5 individual events (not including relay). For non-USMS members, a One-Event registration may be purchased during the entry process for an additional $20.00.  If the event is canceled, all fees will be refunded. No refunds for individual entries.

Entries:
Online entries only. Online entries are paid by debit/credit card to SDMASTERS. Swimmers from South Dakota are encouraged to register for the meet as South Dakota Prairie Masters (unless they are otherwise attached) and choose their closest city (Sioux Falls, Pierre, Rapid City, etc) as their workout group. Masters swimmers from other states and LMSCs are welcome to attend.

Relays:
Submissions for Event #35, the mixed free relay, will be accepted on deck at the event, at a time announced by meet management.  Relay teams for Event #35 may consist of all Men, or all Women, or Mixed (2 men & 2 women).

Deadline:
Registration will open at 8 a.m. (CST) on Friday, February 10th, 2023 and will close at 9 p.m. (CST) on Sunday, March 19th, 2023.  Deck Entries not permitted.

Seeding:
Swimmers will be seeded according to their entry time and gender. Some races may be swum mixed gender to consolidate heats, at the meet directors’ discretion.

Awards:
Ribbons for places 1st-8th in each age group, will be available at our awards table. Check the table at the end of the day to find labels and ribbons. Age groups are as follows (18-24, 25-29, 30-34 …) Standard "South Dakota State Meet" records will not apply this year, because we are swimming our state meet for the first time in a SCM distance pool.

Concessions:
Water, sandwiches, and snacks will be provided at no cost for swimmers and volunteers during the meet. Swimmers may also bring their own snacks and beverages.

T-Shirts:
The t-shirt ordering deadline closed on 3/5/23; t-shirts are no longer available for purchase.

Annual Meeting/Social:
The annual meeting of the South Dakota LMSC, with social time and a delicious home-cooked meal, will occur onsite approximately 1 hour after the last event concludes. This will allow time for photos, showers, announcement of the Golden Kickboard, etc. There is no cost to attend the meeting itself.  If you choose to enjoy the meal, we request $10 per person, and plus-ones are permitted! Payment will be processed through the registration page of this website.  The event will be held at meet director David Lind's home, and the menu includes "Kalua pork served on rice and a cabbage/onion mix with a fruit salad side."  The address of the home, located just minutes from the pool, will be provided to you by email before the meet.
