A Short Course Yards Timed Final Meet

DATE: Sunday, March 5, 2023. Warm up begins at 10:00AM. The Meet will begin at 11:00AM.

FACILITIES: The Rice University Aquatic Center is a 25 Yard, eight (8) lane x 50 meter outdoor pool with regulation starting blocks, bulkhead separating the competition pool from lap lanes. Colorado Timing System and eight lane scoreboard will be utilized. Lap lanes on the other side of the bulkhead will be available for continuous warm up and cool down. Locker room facilities available.

POOL LENGTH CERTIFICATION: The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1, but as a bulkhead course, is subject to length confirmation.
Eligibility of times for USMS Top 10 and records will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement.

LOCATION: Rice University Gibbs Recreation and Wellness Center, 6100 Main Street, Houston, TX. 77005


DIRECTIONS: Rice University is located just across from the Texas Medical Center. From US 59, exit Shepherd/Greenbriar and go south to Rice Blvd.  Turn left on to Rice Blvd.  Go through the Shepherd traffic light and two entrances down (entrance 20) Alumni Drive make a right turn onto campus.  The nearest parking is immediately available in the North and North Annex lots.  You will need a credit card to enter.  Closer parking is available in the McNair Building Parking Garage across the street from the Recreation Center, but is more expensive. SANCTION: Sanctioned by Gulf LMSC for USMS, Inc, 253-S002.  Times from this competition will be eligible for USMS records and Top 10 consideration, but not for world records. Length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1, but as a bulkhead course, is subject to length confirmation.  Eligibility of times for USMS Top 10 and records will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement.

RULES: Current USMS Short Course Rules will govern the conduct of the meet.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all currently registered USMS and FINA swimmers. Swimmers not currently registered with USMS will be given an opportunity to register with USMS while doing their online entry.

AGE: Athlete age at the meet is determined by their age on the day of the meet.

ENTRIES: Online entries only at
https://www.ClubAssistant.com . A maximum of 5 individual events may be entered. Enter with short course yard times or convert your meter times to short course yard.
Swimmers may enter with NT (no time).

FEES: Meet entry fee is $40. Online entry deadline is Friday March 3, 2023 AT 8:00pm. Online entries will be charged to your credit card by “WWW.RICEAQUATICS.COM” There will be no day of or deck entries.

SEEDING: All events, except the 500 free, will be pre‐seeded on Saturday, with women and men seeded together, slowest to fastest. All registered swimmers will receive a heat sheet on Saturday, March 4^th by 6:00pm. The 500 will require positive check in (see deadlines below) and will be deck seeded swimming slowest to fastest.

500 Free 10:30 AM
All swimmers not checked in by the above deadlines will be scratched from the event.

RESULTS: Results will be posted during the meet on MeetMobile. Hard copies will also be posted at the meet. Final results will be posted on the Gulf Masters Web Site at www.gulfmastersswim.org and on www.usms.org

AWARDS: Fresh Air and Camaraderie with fellow swimmers.
