2021 VIRTUAL SWIM, PADDLE and/or ROW PORT OF LONG BEACH TO PORT OF TOKYO!
When COVID-19 restrictions led to cancelled races and with training/exercise options severely limited, the Board of Directors of Aquatic Capital of America, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit corporation, looked for another way to raise funds while inspiring all water sports enthusiasts to get out and move. Thus, our first virtual event was born in 2020.
WHY ARE WE BACK WITH ANOTHER VIRTUAL EVENT NOW? Because we had so much fun doing the Virtual COVID Swim-Paddle-Row Long Beach to Hawaii (and back to Long Beach and back to Hawaii) last year! Let's do another!!! This year's event will be a 30-day Swim-Paddle-Row excursion to Tokyo, leading up to the Closing Ceremonies of the Tokyo Olympics on August 8. For swimmers, this event is a great way to train for the 2021 Naples Island Swims in Long Beach on Sunday, August 15.
MORE WHY - The impact of funds raised through this event helps Aquatic Capital to continue growing our programs as the world continues trying to recover from the pandemic. Our fundraising efforts allow us to:
Assist local aquatic organizations and athletes with expenses associated with coaching and training.
Offer scholarships toward the cost of college for high achieving high school seniors planning to continue their aquatics sports activities in college.
