Location Info:
A world-class facility and one of the largest indoor swimming complexes in the southeastern United States, the YMCA Aquatic Center has been the location for many elite competitions, from the Arena Grand Prix Series to a host of national and regional championships each year. It is also well-known as a fast pool, having been the setting for numerous record-setting swims from such swimming greats as Pablo Morales, Janet Evans, and Rowdy Gaines himself. Located just off of Orlando’s renowned International Drive, the natatorium features a main 50 meter by 25 yard competition pool with non-turbulent lane lines as well as a separate 25 meter by 25 yard diving well and a 20 yard by 25 yard instructional pool. Ample spectator seating is available for family, friends and supporters.

Orlando itself hardly needs an introduction. With beautiful weather, excellent shopping, entertainment and dining experiences, and of course a variety of famous theme parks such as the Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Studies or Sea World, the “City Beautiful” is the perfect place to visit for both our swimming competition and a family holiday! The YMCA Aquatic Center is located right in the heart of International Drive, the city’s main tourist strip, with an extensive array of hotels, restaurants and shopping centers, many of which are near the pool itself.

Training Camp:
Training camp opportunities will be available the week before and/or the week after the meet.  Discounts on lodging and assistance with food and attractions are also available through the Central Florida YMCA.  For more information, please contact Mike Brady at mbrady@cfymca.org.

Deck Entries:
Deck entries may be accepted by the Meet Referee or his/her designee, up to 45 minutes before the start of the session under the following conditions:

  • Fees must be paid at time of entry ($10.00 per event).
  • Facility fee must be paid unless swimmer is already entered.
  • A swimmer may not scratch an event to deck enter an event.
  • A swimmer must provide their own counter for distance events.

Seeding:
25 meter short course times will be used for seeding.  Conversions may be made using the formula in the current Florida Swimming Handbook and/or FINA conversion.

Scratch Penalty:
PRELIMS- No penalty for scratching on the block in the Preliminary or Timed Final events with the exception of the deck-seeded events.  Any swimmer entered in an individual event that is "deck seeded" who has checked in for the event, must swim the event unless he/she notifies the clerk of course before the seeding for that event has begun, that he/she wishes to scratch.  Failure to do so and not swim will result in the swimmer being barred (scratched) from the next individual event (preliminary or timed final) in which the swimmer is entered.  Declared false starts will be accepted from the swimmer prior to the start of the heat.

FINALS- Any swimmer who competes in a preliminary heat and qualifies for either championship or consolation finals and fails to swim in the final without notifying the Meet Referee that he/she may withdraw from the finals within thirty (30) minutes after the announcement of the qualifiers for that event and further fails to declare his/her final intention within thirty (30) minutes of his/her last individual preliminary event, will be penalized by being automatically scratched from their next individual final or individual event, whichever occurs first.  The Referee may insert the next eligible swimmer into Finals or Consolation Finals once a "failure to swim" is declared and in any vacant lanes resulting from the penalty.  Declared False Starts in Finals will be considered a "failure to swim" and will draw the same penalty.  In the event of illness or injury, certified to the satisfaction of the Meet Referee, there will be no penalty.
