DATE AND TIME: Sunday, February 12, 2023
Pool Opens at 9:30am
Warm-up 9:45am, Meet starts at 11:00am

FACILITIES: 8 lane, 25 yard pool with anti-turbulent lane guides, starting blocks and backstroke flags. Lanes 2-8 will be used for competition. The length of the competition course, without a bulkhead, is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

COVID PROTOCOLS: All current protocols in place at the time of the meet will be followed. At the time this sanction was submitted, there were no state or local protocols. The school district recommends, but doesn't require the use of face coverings. Check the Wisconsin Master’s website to determine if COVID protocols have been implemented. If protocols are in place, swimmers, spectators or meet officials that cannot or do not conform to the protocols will not be allowed in the venue. There are no refunds of entry fees.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all swimmers 18 years and over as of Sunday, February 12, 2023. Because this is a USMS sanctioned event, current USMS or FINA membership is required for insurance reasons. There are three membership options:

• Current USMS annual membership
• USMS One-Event membership
• Current membership to a FINA governed Masters swimming country or club

Online meet entry is required for USMS One-Event memberships. Times swum under USMS One-Event memberships are not eligible for USMS Top 10 or records consideration. USMS One-Event memberships are not eligible for USMS or Wisconsin records (individual or relay), All-American consideration or All-Star consideration.

RULES: Official USMS Masters Rules will govern this meet. All events will be timed finals. If initial splits are desired, the swimmer is responsible for completing the Split Notification Form and presenting it to the administrative official prior to the end of the meet, or if backstroke or a relay leadoff, prior to the swim.

SEEDING: Heats will be computer seeded, slowest to fastest. Please submit a reasonably accurate seed time. A “NO TIME” will be seeded in the slowest heat. Age groups and sexes will be combined.

TIMING: 
Primary: Automatic timing system (Colorado)
Secondary: Semi-automatic with one button
Tertiary: two watches.
Note: The timing system precision qualifies as appropriate for setting USMS Records, and Top 10 Consideration. (103.18.5).

WARM-UP PROCEDURE: Swimmers must enter the pool feet first in a cautious manner. When announced, lanes 6 and 7 will be start and sprint lanes with swimming in one direction only and exiting to the side or end. Lanes 1-5 and lane 8 will be for circle swimming only. NO DIVING STARTS or BACKSTROKE STARTS from the blocks or the deck in these lanes. Hand paddles, kickboards, fins, etc., may not be used at any time during the warm up period. Lane 1 will be the designated lane for warm up/cool down during the meet. No jumping, diving or socializing in Lane 1 or on the handicap ramp while the meet is in progress.

ENTRY FEE: 
USMS Members $15.00 plus $6.00 per individual event.
One-Event members $35.00 plus $6.00 per individual event.
There are no refunds of entry fees.

ENTRY LIMIT: Six individual events plus relays. The 500 freestyle will be limited to the first 28 entries received. Each swimmer entered in the event will be responsible for providing a person to count for them. THIS IS A POSITIVE CHECK-IN EVENT. There are two new wrinkles to this meet. Event #7 is a 50 yard Individual Medley. Event #14 is a 150 yard Individual Medley. You must swim at least 25 yards of each stroke IM order. (Fly, Back, Breast, Free)

ONLINE MEET ENTRY: Enter online with Club Assistant. Pay by credit card.
The online entry deadline is Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 6:00pm Central time. No deck entries for individual events.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Paper entries must be received by 6:00 pm, Saturday February 4, 2023 Central time.The Universal Meet Entry Form must be used, one person per form. The liability release must be signed without any alterations. Fees, payable to ‘Madison Area Masters’ and a copy of current USMS registration card must accompany the paper entry form. Deck entries for individual events will not be accepted.

DIRECTIONS: From I94 exit 244 (CTH N). Go North. Navigate two roundabouts and drive approximately 4 miles to stoplight, Grove Street. Turn left, drive toward athletic fields, and use door #20 to enter building. From Highway 151 exit 103 (CTH N). Go South. Bristol Street will merge with STH 19. At first stoplight turn left onto Main Street. At second stoplight turn right onto Grove Street. Turn right at 888 Grove Street, drive toward athletic fields, and use door #20 to enter building.
