COVID-19 Safety Plan
 
The Swim MAC Latin Facility has a current occupancy limit of 205. Our 75 athlete meet size plus volunteers (i.e., 10-15) will be under the NC State requirements. Face coverings are required by the facility per the NC State requirements. Coaches, officials, facility staff, and volunteers must have face coverings on at all times while in the facility. Athletes must have face coverings on at all times on deck, behind the blocks, in the locker rooms, in the bathrooms, and while not competing or warming up/down in the pool. Any individual that refuses to have a face covering will be asked to leave the facility immediately.

Only athletes, coaches, volunteers, staff and officials will be allowed in the facility – no spectators. All attendees will enter from the front door and exit through the side doors. Temperature checks will be taken and the COVID-19 screening form collected as swimmers and volunteers arrive.

The competition pool has 22 lanes for warm-up.  The facility recommends a maximum of 4 people in a lane at one time. All swimmers are to maintain a distance of 6 feet or more away from another participant. A minimum of 10 lanes will be available for warm-down during the meet. There is no concession area and participants should bring their own snack and drinks.

The deck will be set up with each swimmer assigned a spot for their own chair, positioned 6-feet apart on the pool deck. Movement around the pool will be in one direction (counter clockwise). Only one heat for individual events will be allowed behind the blocks at a time. All swimmers in the next heat will be stationed in the On Deck area, 6-feet apart behind lanes 9-16 until the swimmers in the water have left the pool and moved in a counter-clockwise direction out from behind the blocks.

The locker rooms will be open for using the toilets. There will be no use of locker room showers. These will be roped off. The locker rooms, bathrooms, and facility are cleaned overnight.

This will be an intrasquad meet to discourage travel. No ribbons/time stickers will be given. There will not be an end of meet ceremony/announcements to encourage athletes to leave the facility when done swimming.

In the event that an attendee tests positive for COVID-19 after the meet, our seating charts and warm-up lane assignments will be kept in the office for 90 days. Depending on the specific details of the situation that arises, the individuals that may have been impacted will be notified.

Facility:  Charlotte Latin Facility, 9850 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC 28277. 8-lane, 25-yard Short Course pool with 12 lanes reserved for warm up and warm down.

Pool Length Certification:  The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

Timing System:  The primary timing system will be automatic timing. Each lane will have backup timers. Times can be submitted for USMS records and USMS Top 10 consideration.

Fees: Online entries only with a flat fee of $15. All entries must be received by 11:59 pm on Thursday, December 31, 2020. No deck entries for the meet will be allowed.

Eligibility & Rules:  Current USMS rules will govern. All athletes must be (1) 18 years of age or older as of January 2, 2021; (2) registered with US Masters Swimming for the 2021 membership year; and a current member in the SwimMAC Masters Team Unify system. This will be an intersquad meet for USMS members registered with the SwimMAC Masters workout club. The age of a participant for a particular age group shall be determined by the age as of January 2, 2021. The Meet Director and Meet Referee in their sole discretion can combine events and heats as well as create breaks between events as they deem necessary. 

Entries:  Meet entry fee is $15. There will be no one-event registration for the meet. Online entries only. No deck entries. Credit cards will be charged by "ClubAssistant.com Events.” The meet will be limited to the first seventy-five (75) swimmers registered.

Refunds: There will be no refunds given for the meet.

Deadlines: Online meet entries must be completed by 11:59pm, Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Timing: The primary timing system will be automatic timing. There will be a volunteer timer assigned to each lane.

Seeding: Entries for all events will be seeded slowest to fastest. All events will be seeded mixed-gender.

Split Times: This meet will not process split time requests for any distance shorter than the scheduled event.

Psych Sheets and Heat Sheets: Depending upon the size of the meet, we may not send psych sheets. Heat sheets for the meet will be available no later than January 2, 2021 at 12 PM. Please print a heat sheet to bring with you or use your phone to view.

Results: Meet results will be emailed at the completion of the meet to the SwimMAC Masters. These results will be submitted for USMS Top 10 consideration and NC and USMS records.
 
Breaks: We will have a 15-minute break after each event. Any additional breaks will be taken at the discretion of the meet referee. Please bring your own nutrition and water bottles.

Awards:  The meet will not be scored. There will be no ribbons or time stickers in order to cut down on shared spaces and items at the pool.

Seating: Bring your own chair. Seating will be around the pool in distances at least 6 feet apart.

Volunteers: We will be asking for volunteer timers, 1 per lane. We will also need help in cleaning up at the end of the last event. There will be a Sign Up Genius sent out to accommodate those able to time and help.
