The 21st Royal Navy Masters Meet will take place at Millfield School, Keen's Elm Lane, Street, Somerset 
on Sunday 18 February 2024. The event will be swum short course in the 8-lane 25m competition pool with full electronic timing. A second 25m pool will be available for use as a continuous warm-up/warm-down facility throughout the competition. Free parking will be available at the venue.

Entries

• Online Entries here on Club Assistant software. Entries are to be completed online by Friday 9 February 2024.
• Please note that if you enter and pay for the meet but decide at a later date to add more events to your entry, do not start a new meet entry.  Please contact the Meet Director and provide the events and seed times that you wish to add to your original entry.
• Only in year registered competitive category 2 members of Swim England, Swim Scotland, Swim Wales and any other country affiliated to World Aquatics will be eligible to enter. A swimmer may only compete for one club in the competition and must be a registered member of that club on the closing date for entries.
• The organisers will not be accepting entries from Temporary Club Compete members.
• No individual entries will be accepted on the day, but relay entries will be accepted before the warm-up of the first session.
• Competitors in possession of a current Functional Ability Card (FAC) issued by British Swimming showing the exemptions afforded to the competitor shall not be disqualified provided the FAC has been notified to the Referee by the swimmer or their representative before the race takes place.

Transgender Policy

The Female category is for birth sex females in accordance with Swim England’s Transgender and Non-Binary Competition Policy. By entering the ‘Female’ category you confirm that your birth sex is female. The Male / Open category is for birth sex males, trans or non-binary swimmers, and any swimmer not eligible for the female category. The Mixed 200m and 400m freestyle events are open to all swimmers, with results to be categorised separately for Female and Male / Open swimmers.

Swim England recognises there will be a period of transition between the old and new categories, and we, therefore, expect to see some instances of the category ‘male’ still appearing on documents and scoreboards post 1 September 23. Swim England is in touch with the main event management system providers as they put in provisions to accommodate the changes.

Events

Automatic Officiating Equipment (AOE) will be in use. All events will be heat-declared winner in age classification under Swim England laws and World Aquatics Technical Rules for Masters Swimming. Participants will be required to notify the organisers of non-attendance via e-mail prior to the event. There will be no entry cards issued and no second registration on the day of the event.

Entry Fees

400m Freestyle £8.00 (Limited Entry Numbers), all Individual events including 400m £7.00 per event. Relays £8.00 per team. Individual Entry Fees are to be paid through the online entry system only. Cash/Cheques will be accepted for relay entries on the day.  A £2.00 processing fee applies to all entries.

Entry fees are non-refundable.

Relay Events (Open/Male, Female and Mixed)

72+109 yrs, 100-119yrs, 120-159yrs, 160-199yrs, 200+ yrs

No competitor under the age of 25 shall be permitted to compete in the 100, 120, 160 or 200+ Relay events. Mixed relays are to consist of 2 male and 2 female competitors. Dependent on the number of entries, relay events may be combined age group heats. Therefore, clubs are only to enter swimmers into one age group category for open/male, female and mixed.

Awards

Medals will be available from the medal table on the first-floor balcony throughout the event and will be awarded as follows:

Individual Events:1st, 2nd, 3rd - Open/Male & Female
Relay Events: 1st - Open/Male, Female & Mixed
Age Groups: Top Open/Male & Female in each age group
The Lindsay Lant Team Trophy: Top Visiting Team

Points will be awarded to the top six swimmers in each age group as 1st = 6pts down to 6th = 1 pt. Relay points will be awarded to teams finishing 1st = 6pts, 2nd= 4pts and 3rd = 2pts. In relay events where clubs have more than one team entered in any age group, only the nominated ‘A’ Team will count for points.

Results

Official results will be available on the British Swimming and South East Region websites and via https://uk.gomotionapp.com/team/RN-Swimming/page/news   after the competition. Results will also be forwarded for inclusion on the Masters Results Ranking System and the British Swimming Masters Decathlon Competition. Current event records are viewable at www.rnswimming.webs.com.

Programme of Events

The Programme of Events will be published via https://uk.gomotionapp.com/team/RN-Swimming/page/news prior to the event. There will be no programme sales on the day, however, programmes will be posted at point within the facility on the day.
