U.S. Masters Swimming is hosting a USMS Clinic Course for Coaches on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26, 2017 in Bridgewater, NJ
The USMS Clinic Course for Coaches, offered by USMS Education Services, instructs the Masters coach how to conceptualize, organize and deliver a stroke development clinic (SDC). The course consists of both a classroom and on-deck component. The registration for the clinic course is limited to 12 coaches per class. Instructors: Dominic Latella and Mel Goldstein
Dominic Latella is the owner and Head Instructor of SwimBox, an Endless Pool facility that services swimmers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, northern Virginia, and Maryland. Coach Latella works with physical therapists, strength & conditioning coaches, and sports medicine doctors to give the safest and most well rounded swim lessons to his clients. He has over a decade of experience training Masters swimmers nationally and abroad and is a Level 4 USMS Certified Coach. He also works in swimming rehabilitation of Paralympic military athletes in Washington, D.C. at Walter Reed. Coach Latella focuses on execution of appropriate swimming technique to achieve not only improved efficiency and propulsion, but also to prevent injury. His philosophy emphasizes proper technique so that a swimmer may attain one’s best time while optimizing performance for a lifetime of swimming.
Mel Goldstein was the 2001 Speedo U.S. Masters Coach of the year, Mel won the 1997 Ransom J. Arthur, MD Award that goes annually to a person who best supports the objectives of Masters swimming. It is the highest honor bestowed by U.S. Masters Swimming. He is a past President of USMS and a USMS All American with 255 Individual Top Ten Achievements. In 2012, he was inducted into the International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame.
Prerequisites
You must be a Masters coach who has successfully completed Level 1, or higher, of the USMS Masters coach certification. Current USMS membership is also required.
Fees
$50.00 per coach. USMS designated Masters coaches receive a $10.00 discount during the online registration process.
Maximum
Maximum attendance is 12 coaches.

Certified Masters coaches who want to develop the skills and resources necessary to host a successful stroke development clinic.

Clinic course registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another individual. If you can provide the USMS national office with a minimum of 72 hours notice before the start of the scheduled clinic course, you may transfer your registration to a clinic course at an alternate date and location.
