2022 Lucky and Rowdy’s 1500m Time Trial Challenge

Due to some logistical problems associated with Hurricane Ian, we are moving Lucky and Rowdy’s 1.5 k open water swim on Oct 16 to a 1500-Meter pool swim at the aquatic center.  This swim will be limited to 40 participants.  
If you have registered as an add on, your registration will be moved to this event. 
If you registered for just the open water event, you will also be moved to this event.

Sanctioned by the Florida LMSC for USMS, Inc., Sanction # 142-S012

Race Distance: 1500 meters

Entry Fee: $35.  Those who are USMS members already registered will receive a discount/partial refund at the event.  Non-USMS members will have their fees applied to the facility fee and the One-Event membership fee for USMS and not inclur an additional charge.

Age Determining Date: The actual age of the competitor as of 31 December 2022.

Age Groups: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94 and five year increments as high as necessary.

Eligibility:  This event is limisted to those age 18 and older.

Pool Length Certification:  The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

Timing System:  Colorado timing system with scoreboard.  The primary timing system will be automatic timing. Times can be submitted for world records, USMS records, and USMS Top 10 consideration.


Swimmers will be seeded by age/gender.  Athletes will be started in waves based on age group and or gender.  

Those already entered in the Rowdy meet are eligible to enter this event, but there are limited spaces available.  The event will close at 40 entrants.

Please email Scott Bay at Scott@rsjeventspecialists.com with a seed time if you are already entered and still wish to swim the pool event, OR if you are entered but not interested in a pool event and wish to be refunded.


Competition Location:  Rosen Aquatic Center, 8422 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819


Competition Date:  Sunday, October 16, 2022. 

7:30am = Warm Up
8:00am = First heat starts

Length of Course: 1.5K.  The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reduce the length of the swim, based on medical advice should adverse weather conditions prevail. 

Water Temperature:  81 Degrees F
