LCM SWIM MEET
AVON AQUATIC CENTER, AVON, OHIO

THE BASICS: Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023. Warm-ups start at 7:30 a.m. Session 1, Events #1 and #2 (1500M freestyle and 800M freestyle) will start at 8:00 a.m. Positive Check-in is required prior to 7:30 a.m. There will only be 2 heats of the 1500M (only 16 swimmers) and 3 heats of the 800M (only 24 swimmers). Swimmers can swim in Event #1 or #2 but not both events. Splits for the 800M touch of the 1500M will be reported for all swimmers (assuming proper automatic timing system operation), therefore split requests are not required for the 800 split. A half hour warm-up will begin after the 800M heats are completed. Session 2 will start after the 30 minute warm-up but not before 10:00 a.m.
LOCATION: Avon Aquatic Center, 36265 Detroit Rd., Avon, Ohio 44011
POOL: The pool is a 10 lane, 50 meter outdoor pool with anti-turbulent lane lines and Colorado system automatic timing. Only 8 lanes will be used for the competition. During the meet lane 10 will be available for continuous warm-up/warm-down and lane 9 will remain empty as a buffer lane. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1. The primary timing system will be a Colorado 6 automatic timing system with touchpad finishes. Times may be submitted for USMS records and USMS Top 10 times. NOTE: Safety of the swimmers is our first concern. Should inclement weather arise which would endanger swimmers, the meet will be delayed and/or rescheduled to Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023. The decision of the meet director and officials is final. Due to a number of predetermined costs, no refunds will be issued.
ELIGIBILITY: U.S. Masters Swimming 2023 rules will govern conduct of the meet. Because of insurance regulations, all swimmers must be registered U.S. Masters Swimmers. USMS registration is required for all participants. The USMS Release of Liability must be signed electronically during online meet entry or must be signed on paper for mailed entries. Please send a copy of your USMS card with a mailed entry. Swimmers may swim no more than 6 individual events. Only swimmers entered in the meet can participate in relays. A “relay only” fee is an available entry option with reduced fee, see below under “ENTRY FEES”.
AGE: Age of competitors on December 31, 2023 determines a competitor’s age group. Age groups are: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, etc. For relays, age group is determined by the sum total of all four swimmers ages on the relay team. Age groups for relays are: 76+, 100+, 120+, 160+, 200+, 240+, 280+, and so on. All relays can be swum with 4 women, 4 men, or mixed (2 women and 2 men). Each relay team must be composed of members of the same USMS club. Unattached swimmers may not enter relays.
AWARDS:Individual events: First-place medal or ribbon, and second thru seventh place ribbons are available. Relays: first, second, and third-place ribbons. For those who have too many medals and ribbons, we offer alternative awards – coupons – for first, second and third place in individual events and first place in relays.
RESULTS: Results will be posted on www.ohiomasters.com usually within a day or two and on usms.org as well as swim phone shortly after the meet.
DEADLINE: Online registration is preferred on ClubAssistant.com. Online entries will close at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Paper entries must also be received by Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Deck entries for events #3 thru #20 must be in hand at the Admin Desk on the pool deck by 9:00 a.m. on the day of the meet.

Regular Entry Fee is $35.00 and begins at 12:00AM on August 12, 2023
Mail-in Entry Fee is $35.00 regardless of date mailed

USMS Members age 80 and older may enter the meet for free. A discount code will be emailed to previous meet participants who are age 80 or older. If you are age 80 or older and need to receive a code to register you may contact the Meet Director by e-mail at pzsdad@aol.com.
Online entries are paid by credit card to ClubAssistant.com and your credit card will show a charge by "OHIOMASTERS.com" for this swim meet. For mailed entries, make checks payable to O*H*I*O Masters Swim Club and mail to Meet Director, 10990 Quail Hollow Dr., Concord Township, Ohio 44077. Online entries are strongly recommended.
DECK ENTRIES: Deck entries will not be available for the 1500M and 800M free events
(Events 1 and 2.) All of the meet events will be pre-seeded before the meet to ensure timely functioning of the meet and so that swimmers can verify heat and lane assignments when they arrive at the pool. Deck entries for Events 3 thru 20 will only be available for an event which has an empty lane as seeded when you arrive at the pool. Deck entries will be entered as no time entries and must be submitted no later than 9:00 a.m. Please scratch any events you do not intend to swim during check-in so that deck entrants may use open lanes.

No deck entries for events 1 and 2. Swimmers may not enter events 1 and 2. Swimmers do not need to submit a split request for event 2 if entered in event 1. Similarly, Event 2 will be limited to 24 swimmers and positive check in will be available online until 7:00PM Friday, August 25, 2023. So how do you check-in? A final Check-in opportunity will be available at the pool the morning of the meet and required by 7:30AM if not previously completed online. If you do not check in by 7:30AM Saturday, August 26, 2023, you may lose your lane assignment if an alternate is available on the pool deck. No Mail-in entries will be accepted for Events #1 and #2. Repeating again, online entry is highly recommended for the entire meet.
ORDER OF EVENTS - Session 2 - Saturday, no earlier than 10:00 a.m., August 26, 2023 Please read carefully as the event order has changed from last year. Note: Some longer events are back to back. There will be a 3 minute break after Events number 3, 4, and 5 to allow for swimmer recovery. The timing system pads will be reconfigured after event #6. There will be a 5 minute break after Events number 10, 13 and 15 to allow for swimmer recovery. All relays will be men’s(M), women’s(W) or exactly 2 men 2 women(X) and will be swum in a single heat indicated in the list of events below.
