Relays: Enter relays at the meet. 400 meter relays will be competed. Each competitor may swim only one same-sex freestyle relay, one same-sex medley relay, one mixed freestyle relay, and one mixed medley relay.

Eligibility: Open ONLY to adults (18 years of age or older) who are 2023 USMS members or a foreign equivalent. Non-member swimmers may become USMS members by joining online at www.usms.org/reg/. USMS One-Event Registration is not available. Foreign swimmers may participate upon presenting proof of current registration with their country’s Masters Swimming governing body. Foreign swimmers are not eligible for USMS Top 10, National Records, nor All-American awards.
Age groups: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. Relay age groups is based on the combined ages of the relay swimmers: 72-99, 100-119, 120-159, etc. Your age group is determined by your age on December 31, 2023.
Entry Fee: $35.00. Online registration required, paid by credit card to "Oregon Masters”.
Entry Deadline: Online registration opens on June 30, 2023 at 8:00 am PDT. Online registration closes on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm PDT. Late entries are not accepted.
Entry Limit: Six (6) individual events maximum. One (1) relay (same sex or mixed) per relay event for a maximum of 4 relay entries. Due to time constraints, the 400 IM (event #1) and the 800 Free (event #21) will be limited to 18 competitors in each event. If necessary, due to time, relays may be cancelled.

- 1-2 lanes for warm-up and warm-down
Shade: There is limited shade available. Plan accordingly for sunny and warm conditions.
Concessions: Swimmers and friends should bring food and beverages according to their needs. There is a Safeway and a variety of restaurants in close proximity to the pool.
Hotels: There are no special arrangements for accommodations. Google “Hotels in The Dalles, Oregon” to see a list of accommodations.
Pool Length Compliance: The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.
Timing System: Fully automatic Colorado electronic timing for races of 100 meters and greater. Times for races 100 meters and greater are eligible for USMS and World Aquatics Top 10 and records. Semi-automatic timing (buttons) will be used for 50s. Times for 50s will be eligible for USMS and World Aquatics Top 10 only. Times for 50s are not eligible for USMS or World Aquatic records because buttons are used (103.18.6).
CAMERAS, VIDEO EQUIPMENT, AND DRONES: The use of cameras, including cellphone cameras and/or other recording devices, is prohibited behind the starting platforms during the start of races including relay starts (102.16.1). The use of audio and/or visual recording devices, including cellphone cameras, is prohibited in changing areas, restrooms, and locker rooms (102.16.2). Operation of drones, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venues (pool, athlete/coach areas, and open ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials, and/or spectators are present (102.16.5).
TOBACCO PRODUCTS: Smoking and use of other tobacco products is prohibited on the pool deck, in locker rooms, in spectator seating and standing areas, and in all areas used by swimmers during the meet and during the warm-up periods in connection with the meet (102.15).
Meet Warm-up: 7:30 am. Competition begins: 8:30 am.
Schedule and Order of Events: The event order has been modified to accommodate a 1 day meet. All events will be seeded SLOW TO FAST regardless of gender

Awards: OMS ribbons for places 1-3 in individual & relay events. NW Zone awards for places 1-6 for individual and relay events.
Workout Group (Team) or Club Scoring:

- Swimmers will represent the Oregon LMSC workout group or club (if other than OREG club) listed on their USMS registration. Only workout groups/clubs registered by July 22, 2023 will score points. Full workout group/club names and their abbreviations are listed below. If your workout group/club is not listed or is NOT registered, register the Workout Group/Club before the July 22, 2023 deadline.
- When entering the Association Championship, you may only select a Workout group IF you are a member of Club OREG. Otherwise, leave the Workout group field blank.
- There will be three group categories—Small, Medium, & Large—based upon the number of swimmers entered in the meet for each workout group/club. There will be a meeting of workout group/club representatives on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 7:45 am to place the teams into these three categories by vote.
- Cumulative team scoring will be compiled and banner awards given to the first three teams placing in all three categories.
- Swimmers from other LMSCs may enter the meet, but are not scored in the workout group/club competition.
