DAM's Annual Lake Berryessa Swim is one of the longest running open water swim events in America. Begun in 1981 as a friendly lake swim, this event now attracts over 500 swimmers each year to the Oak Shores campground on the shores of Lake Berryessa.

USA Swimming 500 yard (age 8-10 only), 1 mile (age groups 11-12, 13-14, 15-18), 2 mile (age groups 13-14, 15-18), USA Swimming Sanction Pending: this event will be governed by USA Swimming Open Water Rules

Course: Lake Berryessa is a freshwater lake managed by the US Department of Reclamation. One and two mile courses are marked by buoys at 100 yard intervals. Anticipated water temperature is 65-70 degrees.

Swim Procedure: - Deep water starts - RFID - Chip timing - No individual escorts or special equipment - Safety craft consists of nonmotorized boats with evacuation support from motorized boats.
First wave starts at 9:15am
Last wave starts at 11:55am
Cutoff times:
For 2 mile events, 2 hours after wave start or 12:00pm, whichever is earlier.
For 1 mile events, 1 hour after wave start or 12:55, whichever is earlier.

Check-in: Race day registration and check-in begins at 7:30am. Registration/check-in for the 500 yd and 2 mile events closes at 8:45am and at 10:30am for the 1 mile events.

Awards: Commemorative awards to the top three finishers in all Category 1 events in each age and gender group. Special awards to the first male and female overall in 1 mile, 2 mile, 1+2 mile, and Category 2.

Custom Merchandise: Commemorative merchandise may be purchased during race entry. Limited quantity of merchandise will be available for purchase on Race Day.

Post Swim Picnic: Lunches should be pre-ordered to guarantee availability. Picnic tables, BBQ grills, and restroom facilities are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
