Competition

Meet Information: All swimmers must check-in at the table by the pool entrance; positive check-in is required for each event.

*Warm-up for the 1650 Free will begin at 4:00 pm on Friday April 5. Positive check-in for the 1650 Fr is 4:30 pm. The 1650 Free willl start at 5 pm. (If there are a significant number of scratches, the1650 may be re-seeded prior to the start of the meet). The 1650 will be swim fast to slow.

*There will be a maximum of 7 mixed heats (42 swimmers) for the 1650 and also 7 mixed heats of the 400 IM. Friday individual events will be mixed. Warm-up for the meet on Saturday & Sunday will start at 8 AM and the first event will start at 9 AM.  Heats will be swum at the meet director's discretion.

*Binghamton University installed all new starting blocks with adjustable track start wedges, handgrips and backstroke starting ledge in October 2018. Binghamton Masters Swimming members played a key role in the fundraising effort for these new blocks.

     -The pool is 6 lanes with electronic timing. The primary timing system will be automatic timing (Colorado Timing System). Times will be submitted for USMS records and USMS Top 10 consideration. The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.

     -The diving well will be open for continuous warm-up/cool-down. There will be 15 minute breaks after event #1 (1650 Free), #10 (200 Mixed Medley Relay), #16 (Men's 500 Free), #32 (400 Mixed Medley Relay) and #39 (Men's 50 Free) when the main pool will also be open for additional warm-up.

Fees: There is a flat meet fee of $30 for all swimmers + $5 per event. Swimmers are allowed a maximum number of 7 individual events for the meet with no more than 6 events per day. Relays are free and earned points will count towards team standings, with official times.

Relays: Relays are free and unlimited and with official times. Earned points will count toward team standings. All relays will be deck-entered. (Relay cards can be placed in the box at the timing table). There are 15 total relays; men, women and mixed
*Relay entries for Events 3 &4 are due by 5:30  pm Friday.
*Relay entries for Events 9&10 are due by 9 am Saturday.
*Relay entries for Events 23, 24&25 are due by 12 am noon Saturday
*Entries for ALL Sunday relays are due by the END of the Saturday session

Entries: Deck entries will NOT be accepted for individual events. Entries can be submitted online and will open January 3, 2019. Entry deadline is March 22, 2019, midnight. Relay-only registrations will also be accepted.
     *All swimmers must have a current USMS registration.
      *One-event registrations will only be available online; swim times for OEVT registrants will be unofficial and will not be considered for USMS Top 10, NY State Championship Meet, Niagara District or USMS records.
       *Members of College Club Swimming are eligible for a reduced fee USMS bridge membership ($25). Please contact collegeclub@usmastersswimming.org for more information.

Awards: Laminated State Meet Swim Cards will be available to collect personal race results. Team scoring will be available at the end of each day. Championship banners will be availabale to the top three teams at the end of the meet.

Results: Results will be posted on the Niagara District and USMS websites.

Instructions: Entries will only be accepted through the Club Assistant online entry process. Your credit card will be charged by "Club Assistant.com Events'.  All USMS swimmers 18 yrs. old as of 4/5/19 are eligible. Age swum is determined by age on 4/7/19. Directions: From Rt.17 East or West take exit 70 south to Binghamton University. Going up the main entrance drive, bear right at the traffic circle to the first brick buiilding on your right, the West Gym. Park on the West side of the building and use the door adjacent to the parking lot.

T-Shirts: Custom Championship T-shirts can be purchased with the online entry. There is a men's crew neck and women's v-neck style shirt, cotton blend, available in sizes XS-2XL for $20.. T-shirts MUST be preordered and will not be available at the meet.

Meet Social: A social will be held on Saturday April 6 from 6-8 pm following the meet at the Quality Inn, Vestal Parkway. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided and there will be an cash bar with one free drink per swimmer. Registration is on-line only with the meet registration. Cost is $5 per person or $10 per family.
