DATE
Sunday January 21st, 2024, all following times will be listed in the local/pool’s own time zone of eastern time zone (EST). Meet Warm-ups start at 10:00 – 10:50 am EST.  Heat Sheets posted at 10:45 with a meet start of 11:00 am.  Approximate finish time is 1:30 pm. Afterwards, there will be a social and banquet at: 2:00 pm  that will run for approximately 3-hours (2:00pm - 5:00pm).  Total cost of $30 which includes pentathlon meet, relays, awards/swag if earned, as well as post meet social & banquet including special guest speaker.

LOCATION
The Meet will take place at the Center Grove High School Natatorium within Center Grove High School. This is a brand new, beautiful 10-lane 50-meter (or two 25-SCY/SCM) pool located just 25 minutes south of Indianapolis within Greenwood, Indiana. Swimmers will now park in Lot C3 Reserved on the south side and use Door #8 which is located on the east-side of the school.  As you exit the Natatorium doors, it is the door to the right down the hallway.

POOL
The warm up and competition pools are configured as two 25-yard pools with 8-lanes each (east/”white” and west/”red”).  Competition will take place in the WEST or “Red” pool. While pre-meet warm up may take place in both east and west pools, only the east pool will be utilized during the meet function as a warm up and cool down space. Both pools have anti-turbulent lane lines and automatic timing systems. The timing system includes Daktronics touchpad and two back-up buttons per lane, Daktronics reaction pads, stopwatches, laptop with Meet Manager w/ Meet Mobile, OMNISPORT 2000 controller, and PA system.

The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1 but as a bulkhead course, is subject to length confirmation. Eligibility of times for USMS Top 10 and Records will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement.

This top ten eligibility applies until the conclusion of events (#9-10: the M&W 200-Yard IM) at which point all following events will be fun and non-conforming (non-sanctioned fun relays). Non-conforming/non-sanctioned will show up on results/meet-mobile as exhibition since they are not conforming.

ELIGIBILITY
2024 U.S. Masters Swimming rules will govern conduct of the meet.  Because of insurance regulations, all swimmers must be registered U.S. Masters Swimmers. Swimmers must be USMS registered before swimming any events. The USMS Release of Liability must be signed electronically during online meet entry.  Swimmers who have not registered with USMS and have not completed their Release of Liability will not be permitted to compete.

EVENT LIMIT
Per USMS Rules there is an individual event limit to six entries. Due to the nature of the meet containing only five sanctioned events for the pentathlon, this rule will not impede swimmers from entering too many events. Swimmers may enter all five events of the pentathlon and meet without hindrance of an event limit.

NON-CONFORMING EVENT / FUN RELAY “FRELAY” INFORMATION
There will be four non-conforming, non-sanctioned relays beginning directly after the completion of the pentathlon (sanctioned events) conclude. This will take place during the same session of the meet.  There will be four relays consisting of:

  • T-shirt Relay
    • The tshirt relay consists of each relay team having their own tshirt to swim in for a length of a relay.  The [same, wet] T-shirt will be passed/transferred between swimmers within a relay team until the relay has completed their assigned distance. Whoever/whichever relay team to do so fastest wins!
  • Silicone shot glass relay
    • About how this sounds. A silicone shot glass will be placed on the swimmers head/forehead while they attempt to complete their respective relay portion length while trying not to drop said [silicone] shot glass/cup. Cups may not be placed inside swimwear, nor swim cap(s) to gain advantage.
  • Noodle Baton Pass Relay
    • The Noodle Baton Pass Relay will mimic running style relays where a traditional baton is passed between relay participants. Swimmers may get creative with their ideas to transport the noodle across the pool and between swimmers. (i.e. some swimmers have a place in their cap or goggle straps while others typically hold the noodle in one hand). Relay lengths must be fully finished prior to passing off baton! Example: No passing off at the 20 or 40 yard mark, 25 or 50 or whatever given full yardardage must be completed prior to passing.
  • Pool Floatie Relay
    • This relay includes relay swimmers swimming their respective length with a round (provided) pool floatie on. After completing their respective length and then quickly passing it onto the next swimmer to be worn/sat on and swam with. Creativity is encouraged!
AGE GROUPS
  • Age of competitors on January 21st, 2024 will determine the respective age group for competition.  Age groups are: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, etc.
  • For relays, due to the nature of the non-traditional style and non-sanctioning of them age groups will not be utilized for the fun relays “frelays” as they would typically in traditional, sanctioned relays.
DEADLINE
Online entry closes on Thursday, January 18 at 11:59pm EST.  Deck entries will not be permitted.
