IMPORTANT NOTE: This meet has been CANCELLED, Entries have been closed, refunds will be processed.  Hawaii Masters had worked with the Pacific Masters in the Oceania Zone meeting at USAS convention for the last few years to try and set up a first-ever Oceania Zone meet here on Maui - trying to select the best time, a long course meet, etc.  With 2 weeks to go, we have only one entrant from California, and less than 10 signed up for the meet - not enough to make for good racing, nor enough to justify setting up for a championship meet.  Refunds should be processed by next Wednesday May 24 to all entrants.  Our apologies.  Please feel free to write or call me (meet director) if any questions.

REGISTRATION IS AVAILABLE ONLINE ONLY!  IT'S MORE EFFECTIVE AND EASIER!

Facility:  Kihei Aquatic Center. 303 E. Lipoa St., Kihei, Maui, HI 96753.  50m x 25yd 8-lane pool with bulkhead set at 50m. The competition pool ranges in depth from 13' start end to 6'7" turn end.  There is a 25yd 3-1/2 to 4' 8-lane shallow warm-up pool. The length of the competition course will be measured in compliance with USMS rules.  Eligibility of times for USMS Top 10 and records will be contingent on verification of bulkhead placement. Water temperature is typically between 79-81F degrees. One 8-lane colorado LED scoreboard also with Event/Heat, time of day, and Record/Length is mounted high above the shallow end of the competition course.  Spectators and Swimmers will be stationed together around the pool on bleachers - no entrance fee.  Parking will be mostly below the pool in a grassy lot. 

Rules: Swimmers must be registered with USMS for 2017. USMS One Day Registration will not be allowed for this meet. USMS rules govern the meet. Swimmers are limited to 5 individual events per day. When warming up, you must enter the pool feet first except in sprint lanes. No paddles or kickboards are allowed. All swimmers must sign the standard USMS waiver upon arriving at the meet.

Fee: $45 early bird registration accepted until 11:59 pm HST 4/15/2017.  After 4/15, $55 flat fee.  No charge for relays.  There will be no refund unless the meet is cancelled, in which case $10 of the fee paid will be retained, and the remainder will be refunded.  The late entry fee is $65.

Deadline: Early Bird Entries must be completed online by 11:59pm HST Saturday April 15, 2017.  Regular Entries must be completed online by 11:59pm HST May 31, 2017.  Online entries are required. Deck entries will be accepted from 7:00am to 8:00am Saturday, June 3, 2017 A deck entry fee will apply. Heat sheets will be published based on all entries received by Wednesday, May 31st, 2017 at 11:59pm.

Scoring & Awards: Individual events will be scored 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1; relays doubled. Award certificates will be available to each participant. Awards will be given to individuals with the highest points in each age group, male and female.  Team scores will be tabulated, and awards TBD.

Seeding: All events will be seeded by gender and time except the following events which will be seeded by time only: 1500m (max 2 heats), 400 IM and 400m free. In order to be seeded in the 1500, 400 IM and the 400 free, you must re-confirm at the pool that you will swim. All events will be seeded from slow to fast except the 400 free, which will be seeded fast to slow. “No Time” is not allowed. The Meet Director reserves the right to combine genders in any other events.

Relays: Relay entries will be accepted at the meet by filling out relay cards and turning them in to the meet director. Deadlines for relay entries will be announced by the meet director at the meet but should be done as soon as possible when arriving at the meet.

Schedule: June 3-4, 2017  
Day 1:
Session 1: 1500 (max 2 heats).  Warm-up 8:00-8:45am.  Races start 9:00am.
Session 2: Warm-up in 25yd training pool.  Warm-up competition pool after 1500 until 10:45am.  Races start 11:00am.
Day 2:
Session 3: Sunday warmup at 8:00-8:45am. Races start 9:00am.

T-Shirt: A commemorative T-shirt is available for $15.00 per shirt.
