CVMM 9TH Annual Matt Biondi SCY Masters Meet
Special Pentathlon Format
St Patrick’s Day Pentathlon

Facility: California Lutheran University (CLU), Samuelson Aquatic Center is an outdoor 50 meter by 25-yard competition pool located at, 100 Overton Ct. Thousand Oaks, CA 91360. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1.

Timing System: The primary timing system will be fully automatic. Daktronics Timing will be used. Times may be submitted for USMS record and Top 10 consideration.

Directions:  CLU Samuelson Aquatic Center is located on the corner of Olsen Rd. and Mt Clef Drive, Thousand Oaks. From the North or South, take the 101 Ventura Freeway to the 23 Freeway North towards Simi Valley.  Exit at Olsen Rd.  Take Olsen Rd (towards West) to Mt Clef Drive, turn right and then left into the large parking lot.

Parking: Free. Obey all posted signs. 

Rules: United States Masters Swimming rules will govern. Current SPMS meet procedures will be enforced and take precedence over any errors or omissions on this form. The meet referee will be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be directed to that person. Age on March 17, 2024, determines age group for the meet. You must be at least 18 years of age on March 17,2023 to compete.

Warm-up: USMS warm-up policies will be enforced. There will be NO DIVING into the pool any time except into the designated sprint lane(s). Warm-up rules will be announced. Warm-up in the competition lanes will be available for one hour prior to the start of the meet. Additional warm-up lanes will be available.

Entries:

• All swimmers must be registered with USMS for 2024 or foreign equivalents.
• Early Entry Fee $60.00 flat fee per swimmer.
• Early entry price closes Wednesday March 13,2024 at 11:59pm Pacific.
• Late entries will be allowed for a flat fee of $65.00.
• Entries close Friday March 15, 2024, at 11:59pm Pacific.
• NO DECK ENTRIES ALLOWED.

Check-in: Check-in is not required. A swimmer who misses their heat will NOT be reseeded into a later heat and will be disqualified for that event.

Seeding: All events are timed finals and will be deck seeded slowest to fastest by entered time, ages and sexes combined.

Relays: All relays are free and can be entered online (preferred) or deck-entered. Relay-only swimmers MUST enter online for a fee of $10 and sign the liability release. Swimmers may only swim on ONE Freestyle Relay (Events #6, 7, and 8) and ONE Medley Relay (Events #9, 10, 11). 

Awards: Custom pentathlon awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group. The swimmer with the lowest cumulative time for all five events shall be declared the winner. A swimmer must complete all five events to be considered for an award. If a swimmer is disqualified in one or more events, that swimmer is ineligible for a pentathlon award. 

Matt Biondi Special Award for the fastest Male and Female in the 50 yd. freestyle will be awarded based on Pentathlon 50 yd free results.

Raffle tickets for sale: Crowd pleasers at our first eight Matt Biondi meets were our fabulous raffle baskets which will be available again this year. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the meet.  Winners must be present to pick up their baskets.

Snack Bar: Limited snacks and food items will be available for purchase. Hospitality for Officials, Volunteers, and Coaches will be provided.
