Swim Meet Cancelled due to Corona Virus Restrictions

Refunds will be processed less service fees. Expect a refund from ClubAssistant.com in the amount $40.85 by March 17, 2020.

Last night, Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced new restrictions on public gatherings and school-related competitions, effective immediately and for the next 30 days. 

Reading carefully the Governor's directive, three key terms of the new C-19 restrictions apply to Oregon Masters Swimming competitions: No gatherings >250 people, maintain "social distance" of 3 feet, and all school competitions canceled. 

1. Most meets, even with minimal staffing, will be at or over 250 people when counting all people at the meet, including facility staff.
2. We cannot maintain a 3-foot social distance.
3. Our competition environment is no different from a school-based competition.  In this environment, we cannot afford to be crosswise with the state and the public bodies who own and operate most of our competition pools.

Failing any one of the three tests is enough, and all meets fail #2 and #3.

We don't plan on re-scheduling this event due to the ongoing threat of this pandemic.

LOCATION: Oregon City Municipal Swimming Pool, 1211 Jackson Street, Oregon City, OR 97045
                                            
ELIGIBILITY: USMS or registered in a foreign swimming federation. NO ON-DECK REGISTRATION SHALL BE PERMITTED. For U.S. Masters Swimmers, the swimmer’s age as of December 31, 2020, shall be their age for the meet.
                                                   
ENTRY DEADLINE: USMS entries must be received by 11:59 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020.

ENTRY LIMIT: USMS may enter a maximum of FIVE (5) events per day, SIX (6) total.

ENTRY FEES: Meet entry fee for a two-day meet: $45.00

ENTRIES: USMS Swimmers are encouraged to enter this meet online on Club Assistant, which includes live USMS member verification, event entry form, waiver, and confirmation email. Masters swimmers will enter relays at the meet.  Relay cards will be available at the Clerk of Course desk.
                                               
FACILITY: Indoor, 25 meters, with 6 lanes 2.5m per lane.  Starting blocks at the deep end of the pool only (12ft), shallow end is (3.5ft). Daktronics Timing system and color scoreboard, parking is available, seating for 200 spectators and a community room adjacent to the pool for another 150 people.  Men’s and Women’s locker rooms will be available. Open pool deck areasavailable for swimmers, coaches an d officials only.  Facility is accessible for adaptive swimmers.  The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C (4). USMS Pool Measurement: The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1.

FINIS Backstroke Wedges will be available during warm-ups and during competition for all Backstroke events.

RESTRICTIONS:Tobacco pro ducts, alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not allowed in the facility. Shaving is not permitted in the facility. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms orlocker rooms.  Deck changing is pro hibited. Photography is not allowed behind the blocks during the start of a race. Operations of a drone, or any other flying apparatus, is prohibited over the venue (pool, athlete/coach areas, spectator areas and open-ceiling locker rooms) any time athletes, coaches, officials and/or spectators are present.

RULES: Current US Masters Swimming and Oregon Masters Swimming rules will govern this meet.

SAFETY CODE: Current Oregon Masters Swimming Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect.

All awards must be picked up at the conclusion of the competition. They will not be mailed.

MEETINGS: Officials' meeting will be held 45 minutes prior to the start of the meet. 
                                           
OFFICIALS: We always appreciate the help of Certified Officials from other clubs.  If you will be attending this meet, please notify Debbie Laderoute at Debbie.laderoute@gmail.com so that your name can be added to the schedule.  An Officials' Hospitality Room will be provided.

EVENTS: All sessions will run five (5) lanes competition with one (1) lane provided for a continuous warm-up/warm-down lane.

The GEAR EXCHANGE will be at the meet!   Bring those usable swim items you don’t need:  the suit that rubs your shoulder after 300 meters, the flip-flops that flip and flop too much when you walk.  They may be the perfect find for another master’s swimmer.  And at the meet stop by  to see if there’s anything you can use.  Free!
