Facility: Los Baños del Mar, Santa Barbara’s 50-meter historic beachside pool at 401 Shoreline Dr, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Pool is an outdoor 50-meter pool with up to 7 competition lanes. The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1.

Timing System: The primary timing system will be fully automatic. Times from this competition will be eligible for world record, USMS record, and Top 10 consideration.

Directions: From 101N Freeway, exit Garden St in Santa Barbara (exit 96B). Left on Garden St, Left on E. Cabrillo Blvd, Right on Shoreline Dr to Harbor Way.

From 101S Freeway, exit Castillo St (Exit 97). Right on Castillo St, Right on Shoreline Dr to Harbor Way.

Take a left on Harbor Way and enter the parking lot to the left and drive towards the end of the lot and the pool will be on the left. Parking fees will apply.

Parking: City Santa Barbara Harbor Waterfront Parking Lot is paid parking and no in and out privileges.  See map below.  The fee for parking at the Harbor Parking Lot is $2.00 per hour with a maximum charge of $12.00 per vehicle per 24 hours of parking.

Rules: United States Masters Swimming rules will govern. Current SPMS meet procedures will be enforced and take precedent over any errors or omissions on this form. The meet referee will be in charge of the meet. Any questions regarding the conduct of the meet should be directed to that person. Age on December 31, 2023 determines age group for the meet. You must be at least 18 years of age on June 24, 2023 to compete.

Deck Changes: Deck Changes are prohibited during ALL MEETS at Los Baños Aquatic Facility.

Warm-up: USMS warm-up policies will be enforced. There will be NO DIVING into the pool any time except into the designated sprint lane(s). Warm-up rules will be announced. Warm-up in the competition lanes will be available for one hour prior to the start of the meet. Additional warm-up lanes will be available.

Entries: All swimmers must be registered with USMS for 2023 or foreign equivalents. Swimmers are limited to a total of 5 events not including relays.

Entry Fees: $55.00 per swimmer flat fee. Online entries will close at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Deck entries will be allowed for $65.00 flat fee. Deck entries will close at 9:00 a.m. (8:00 a.m. for Event 1).

• Event #1 1500 Free will be limited to 3 heats (18 swimmers) and swimmers must be able to finish under the time standard of 45 minutes.
• Event # 14, 400 IM, will be limited to 3 heats (18 swimmers).
• Event #22 400 Free will be limited to 3 heats (18 swimmers).

Disability Swimmers: Disability swimmers are welcome. Please notify the meet director and meet referee, prior to the competition, of any disability and of the requested modification. The swimmer/coach shall provide any assistant(s) or equipment if required.

Seeding: All events are timed finals and will be deck seeded slowest to fastest by entered time, ages and sexes combined. Check-in is required for all events to ensure the meet runs efficiently.

Relays:  It is preferred that all relay members enter the meet online (including Relay-Only swimmers).  Relay team entry forms for coaches will be available on deck Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 7:30am Pacific Time. Relay team fees are $10.00 per relay due upon entry. For relay swimmers who are not entered in individual events, the meet entry fee is $15.00 and a signed liability release must be completed.

Swimmers may only swim ONE relay (Men, Women or Mixed) for the following events: 200M Freestyle Relay (Event #2, #3, #4), 200 M Medley Relay (Event #11, #12, #13), 400 M Freestyle Relay (Event #18, #19, #20)

Awards: Individual: Ribbons for places 1 to 3.  Relays: Ribbons for 1st place.

Snack Bar: No snacks or food will be available for purchase. Hospitality for Officials, Volunteers, and Coaches will be provided.
