Old School Spirit - Long Course Meters Meet (Outdoor)

Location: Melvin Ford Aquatics Center - 2000 NE Memorial Park Square, Bentonville, AR 72712

Facility: Eight lane 50 meter x 25 yard outdoor pool with 9 foot lanes with Keifer Competitor lane lines and non-skid starting blocks. Melvin is a spoon pool with a minimum water depth is 4' on each end.  This event will be timed by stop watches following USMS guidlelines.  There will be a separate warm-up/cool-down pool (20 yards).  The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

Meet Conduct: Current USMS rules will govern the conduct of the meet.

Eligibility: This meet is open to all registered USMS members. If you are not currently a USMS member, you will  need to register with USMS.  You can register online here: https://www.usms.org/join-usms/join-or-renew.  Another option is the USMS fee for one-event registrations, which is $20. Please keep in mind that one-event registratants are not eligible for Event Rankings, Top 10, USMS records, Arkansas Masters records, or other honors (either individual or relay) achieved in the meet. 

Entry Fee:
$30.00 entry fee for all current USMS members 
$50.00 entry fee for non-USMS members ($30 for meet, and $20 for one-event fee as described above)

Payment and entries will be processed through Club Assistant.

**Your credit card will be charged by "ARK MASTERS SWIMMING" for this swim meet.**

Deadline: Entries are due no later than Friday, July 28, 2023 at 12:00 pm CT.

Event Seeding: Events will be seeded according to pre-entered seed times for each swimmer, regardless of age or gender. If an event is comprised of multiple heats, the slower heats will be contested first. All no-time (NT) entries shall be placed in the slower heats.  Competitors limited to six (6) total events (excluding relays).  Competitors racing the 800 or 1500 Freestyle must choose one or the other.

Please note that the following events will be closed after they reach their maximum number of entries:
800 Free:  maximum of 16
1500 Free:  maximum of 8 swimmers

Check in will start at 7:15 am, warm ups begin at 7:30 am, with a meet start time of 8:30 am. Entry into the pool must be feet first in a cautious manner. Diving shall be permitted only in the designated sprint lanes during the meet warm-up.

Timing system:  The primary timing system will be a manual timing system with two watches.  The official times from this meet may be submitted for Arkansas state records and USMS Top 10, but cannot be submitted for world records or USMS records.

This meet  is sanctioned by Arkansas Masters for USMS Inc.  The length of the competition course without a bulkhead is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 107.2.1.
