Date: Saturday, April 6 warm-ups are 11-11:35 am, meet starts at 11:45 pm with a 30-minute warm-up after the 1650.  Sunday, April 7 warm-ups are 8:15-8:30 am, meet starts at 9 am with a 30-minute warm-up after the 1000. 

Facility: The meet will be at the Butte Family YMCA, 2975 Washoe St., Butte, MT 59701. The elevation is 5500'. The pool is an 8-lane, 25-yard regulation short course pool with nine 6' non-turbulent lane lines and Kiefer starting platforms. The pool is 8' deep at the start end and 4' deep at the turn end. The two (2) outside lanes will be reserved for warm up during the meet and a separate two (2) lane warm-up, cool down pool will be available throughout the meet. Temperature of the main pool is approximately 80, warm-up/cool down pool 86-88. The length of the competition course is on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1. Timing is an automatic Colorado Timing System with manual backup.

• There is limited bleacher seating on the pool deck, so bring a chair for deck or balcony seating.
• Parking is free and available next to the facility and across the street.
• Food and drink will be allowed on deck and in the locker rooms.
• PLEASE NO GLASS!!

Eligibility: Currently registered USMS swimmers, 18 years and older. Unregistered swimmers must sign up for 2024 USMS membership before registering for this meet. Register online at USMS registration. There will be no One Event registration.  2024 USMS rules will govern the meet.

Age groups: Age groups for individual events: 18–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39 … (five-year increments as high as necessary). Relay events: 18+, 25+, 35+, 45+, etc. (10-year increments) as high as necessary, determined by the age of the youngest relay member.

Entry Limit: Eight (8) individual events total, maximum of five (5) individual events per day (not including relays). Two (2) relays maximum per day.  Additional breaks will be added if needed to ensure adequate rest time between events.

Entry Deadline: Sunday, March 31, 2024, 11:59 PM MDT. Online entries only.

Entry Fee: Early registration is $40 before Friday, March 15. Registration from March 15 is $50 until entries close March 31st. Online entries are paid by credit card and will appear on your statement as "MT Masters Swimming". There will be no refunds.

Times: Individual event times will be submitted for state, zone, and national recognition. 

Intermediate Split Times: Swimmers who would like one or more intermediate split times submitted as official times must complete a USMS Split Notification Form indicating the distance(s) for which splits should be submitted. Forms will be available at the meet.

Relays: Submit relay cards to the Clerk of Course. For the Saturday freestyle relays, submit cards by the start of Event 9.  For the Sunday medley relays, submit relay cars by the start of Event 18.  You may indicate your availability for relays when registering for the meet, or at the meet. Relay teams must be composed of members of the same club to qualify for records.  Relay times will be submitted for zone and national recognition.

Scoring: Will be through six (6) places and by Club. Relays will not be scored.

Awards: First-time meet swimmers will be recognized at the social.

Safety: During warm up, swimmers must enter the pool feet first except for designated sprint lanes. No paddles, kickboards or other devices/equipment are allowed.

Social and Annual Membership Meeting: A social will be held Saturday night at 6:30 pm at Metals Sports Bar & Grill, 8 West Park St. in the private meeting room, (406) 782-5534. Dinner will be served buffet style.  Dinner cost per person, including friends and family, is $24.  Payment may be made either during the meet entry process or by cash paid to an LMSC representative at the social.  During the social a short MT LMSC annual membership meeting will be held.  

Lodging: Two Butte hotels have set aside a block of rooms for swimmers, 15 each. Be sure to mention "Masters Swim Meet" and book before the cut-off date to get this price.

Timers: Volunteer timers will be needed.  Please encourage your family and friends to help.

Positive Check-in Events:

• Saturday, 1650 Freestyle:  check in by 11:30am
• Sunday, 1000 Freestyle:  check in by 8:30am

Counters: Swimmers in the 1650, 1000, and 500 will provide both a counter and at least one 1 timer.  Two (2) is preferred.  

Events and Seeding: Events will be seeded slow to fast, age and genders mixed. The 1650 Freestyle and 1000 Freestyle will be deck seeded. All entries must have an entry time.

Heat Sheets: There will be a limited number of printed programs available. After the meet is seeded, heat sheets will be available for swimmers. Psych sheets, heat sheets, and event results will be available on SwimPhone.
